Boggles the mind, it does.
I enjoy reading the hate mail at the FSM website. Keep in mind that Christianity is
based on forgiveness and such.
Mind the language, though. Some of those fundies get pretty crass.
People say "it's just a few bad apples" and such, but I hear/read that phrase so often,
I'm wondering if the "bad apples" might not be the majority, and the true forgiving ones
are the few.

Well, along the lines of homosexaulity, I watched a show years back (2001-2001) where this young guy belonged to the Mormon church and he had
Homosexual desires, temptations, and as a therapy, some men of the church hooked his testicles up to some kind of shock therapy and this was supposed
to have some effect. All I could do was wonder how foolish, shocking someone's testicles!

My point exactly.
When no-brainers like this rear their heads it automatically tend to cast a shadow and proporgates the assumption that this applies to all Christians
... which of course is not true. I'm pretty certain the majority are sane, intelligent human-beings.
Somebody on this thread (I forget who), said that it was youngsters who posted these kind of things ... hell, if that were true that just makes it
even scarier seeing as they're the upcoming generation ... but I don't in all honesty think it can all be blamed on the ignorance of youth.

you may say it doesn't apply to too many people...
but a lot of it does.
a good example is missouri (or any state in the bible belt)
there are plenty of people that would agree with quite a bit of the stuff over there
particularly the one about sending homosexuals to camps to force them to a heterosexual lifestyle.
or the one about not considering atheists as fully human beings
the scary thing isn't that these people are far off lunatics...
it's that some of them are far off lunatics that quite a few people would agree with

The bigger picture is this: The kind of morons that equate Christianity with narrow minded fundamentalism are exactly the entire political base of
BUSH and cabal. THESE are the people who voted or would vote for anyone that says the triiger words that Bush's mentors pushed so relentlessly during
campaigns: Faith, Jesus, abortion, terror( repeat that one 100 times) liberals, danger, etc. They played these key words over and over until their base
was defined not by educated and intelligent voters but by those who will vote and support the liar who uses the right phrases, no matter how false it
is.
Bush himself is NOT a churchgoer and is NOT a religious person at all, and God knows he is far from being spiritual at all. He is a liar and traitor
and dry drunk and cokehead who was pulled from ruin by his family and Saudi friends who pumped money into all his failed business ventures, and
propped him up as a reformed Christian who was ' born again ' and deserving of our ignoring all his illegal and criminal deeds. Bush is no more born
again than a bull moose in the UP.
He exhibits all of the traits of a degenerate mind and soul, and he is covered by handlers who keep his mania's under control. He wants so badly to
get Daddys approval that he would wipe the earth out to do so. He is one sick puppy.
But, the posters of these diatribes are no doubt the younger set, as many show a marked lack of maturity and common sense. Some of them voice
opinions so far out that one wonders how they can function in society around normal people: they would be laughed out of any debate and some of them
even doubt that the earth is round! IOf the Bible says its flat, its flat!! See why Bush gets elected twice? See why no one in congress bothers to
impeach Bush and Cheney for their myriad of crimes?
There is a considerable number of people in the USA that think and believe much like those one hundred worst examples..imagine the next 100 and how
inane they would be also..it staggers the mind. So many people are at least ignorant of the facts about current events that they cannot make informed
decisions.
Hopw in the world can a person that has never heard of the Downing Street memo make an informed decision about the Bush cabal? I have asked several
locals here where I live about that, and all but one had no idea what I was talking about. Mention Bldg. 7 on 9-11 and you get looks like " What is a
number 7 building"?....if one can keep one's mind from reeling it becomes obvious immediately that the vast majority of the people have no idea
about the vast evidence that exists to prove criminal conduct all across the government and military/industrial complex.
Eisenhower warned us, and we failed to heed; we failed to heed because the American people have made the deadly mistake of allowing politicians to
make all the decisions and just trusting that they act in our best interests. Now we know better, now we know that our best interests are only the
same as their interests when it makes them money and places us further behind the eight ball. The congress has sold us out totally, NAFTA, CAFTA, NAU,
NWO, take your pick. Habeas Corpus GONE. No legal remedy when the Bush- meister, our new Fuhrer, decides so. He is the decider, remember?
Well, they have decided that we are to be chipped and managed and locked up if we look the wrong way, and the people who equate Bush and his gang
with decent human beings will pave the way for our destruction. The Christians who post nonsense like we see above are sheep and followers and will be
more than happy to ruin this nation and enslave their children and all because the right words were used at the right times by lying, traitorous scum
who are determined to destroy America and soon.

I find this to be very interesting coming from you, madness. Considering your crusade against people who paint atheists with a too-broad brush.
Name a belief and I can find a nice sample of morons that subscribe to it.
Name a vice and I can find a broad range of beliefs that suffer from it.
I've got nothing against having a good laugh at the overboard beliefs of a group (seriously, that mom who worries about her son's
all-male-porn-loving girlfriend is PRICELESS), but eventually the pendulum will swing too far and instead of gawking at the beliefs of an individual,
we are unfairly attaching those beliefs to faceless masses who do not subscribe to them.
I'm a Christian. Ask me about homosexuality. Ask me about the rapture. Ask me about evolution.
Ask me about atheists.
If you're going to judge ME based on the knitwits you're quoting here, then at least do me the courtesy of confirming my beliefs beforehand.
And if your'e going to offer me that courtesy, why wouldn't you offer it to any other Christian you meet?
Bottom line is, I don't think these people accurately represent Christianity any more than terrorists represent Islam.
But it's your call...
Oh, and...for the record: I don't believe in evolution.
(Yes. I did just say that.)

Most of them sound like trolling - someone entering a chat room and saying dumb things on purpose to get a response. What are the top 10 ATS quotes?

Lol, how can you call it violence when you do not inflict harm on someone else?
You're merely triggering bits of code that ''enact'' or simulate ''physical harm'' or w/e you want to call it.
People and their silly obsessions with video games & violence lol.
But yeah, to see those quotes as the top 100.
And some don't even make sense..
If you ask me I find www.bash.org having quite a nice quote database compared to these weird rants lol.

i never said i was going to judge anyone based on the out there people... i was just saying that it's sad that some otherwise reasonable and rational
people actually do subscribe to it...
and even if it's a small percentage, the real number of people is actually quite high.
hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands...
i'm not going to stereotype all christians as wanting to put homosexuals in concentration camps... but there are thousands that wouldn't bat an
eyelash at the idea.
that just outright scares me.

Something Awful's Weekend Web has a number of collections of various forum posts.
The christians are really out of their mind, and even if its children posting, its
the parents and the church's fault these kids are so god damned ignorant.
One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will
increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time
became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If
there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it
We need a campaign to gather up all these kids and send them off to a war zone, with blanks for ammo. Prevent them from continuing to pollute the
human gene pool.

*shudder*
Just think of the advances science could have made if we didn't have religious nutcases pulling strings behind the throne. For one thing we would
have eliminated all genetic disorders and put an end to children being born with severe handicaps.

wow....just...wow...
How can something be so funny yet so f*@#ing horrifying at the same time?
Reading these obscenely hypocritcal comments makes me feel so grateful that I was never brought up with this kind of delusion, or anyone close to me
either.
These people have made their choice on their beliefs, whether or not its ignorance or they are just uneducated. For people who know no different, I
feel sorry for them and their lack of a broad thinking spectrum but it's their choice, they are blissfully unaware of their stupidity. They're
happy...
That would be fine if it wasn't affecting other people. These people's children are going to be subjected to this horrific prejudice, racist,
homophobic, sexist way of life which causes so much unhappiness for even more people. Even the third story down which ends with a note about how the
kid killed himself is horrible .
Especially about the poor kid with mental disability, how could she have possibly commited sin within the womb? ...the womb?!
These fanatic hypocritical comments make me sick every time. They talk of abortion being wrong, how killing another soul is wrong yet they thrive on
fantasies of killing atheists and gays in a violent bloodthirsty way. Apparently their God is all forgiving, all loving, creating each soul with great
care, yet he wil banish you to hell for all eternity without a moment's hesitancy...yeah
The denial and ignorance is funny as hel yeah (especially bout the porn mag incident lol ), but it's scary thinking these people have the potential
to influence the society, people believing in rules written thousands of years ago...people who thinks there is no gravity, only sin makings things
heavier...and that the world is flat...
I know this is only a small minority of christians, I live in ireland, i am surrounded by christians, good and bad. But these people scare and annoy
me to an unfathomable measure. It's their kids i feel sorry for
haha...porn mag...that poor woman lol

i have had many "talks" with born-again christians over the 55 years that i have been on this earth...and the conversations always seem to end with
them saying " well, i have belief in god, and the bible is god's word" and in their minds that pretty much ends the conversation. this is the last
resort used when they find that they are stumped or can't come up with an answer to a logical or reasoned question...therefore, i find it
non-productive to even talk about religion with christians. and that is fine, they are intitled to believe in any religion they desire. however, when
they want ME to live by THEIR religious rules, that's when they become dangerous.. because they KNOW they are right and if you have enough of them in
positions of power they will make you live by their rules or you will die...period. if you don't think i'm right, read about the dark ages in europe
for starters... and then read about some of the earlier days in our own history where people were burned at the stake for supposed "witchcraft" and
in Virginia were whipped for not obeying the sabbath. alot of this history has been hidden from public view but it happened. and that is why so many
of us are so judgemental towards the christian movement in this country.

Oh gee! Did ya'll hear about that Muslim Terrorist that drove a plane into a tower? Wow, ALL Muslims must be terrorists then!
Now, would you agree to the above statement? I highly doubt it. So why then label all Christians as idiots like those in the quotes? I keep hearing
people talk about how we shouldn't label one group because a few. Why does this never apply to Christians? Deny Ignorance...

some are ignorant but so are many posts here
i don't believe in the literal interpretation of the bible or in darwins' theory of evolution, although some of the premises that darwin explains
make sense, i think there are a ton of holes in his theory.
sadly i don't think we have the answers, and the very fact that our elite don't think we could handle the truth of so many things leads me to
believe we would only get a cherry coated version dotted with much mis-information should any real answer be known. If i was an elite i would probably
agree that most people don't have the wisdom or knowledge to handle a lot of things intelligently and the risk of letting them in on secrets or
coverups risks too much disorder.
