I am coming around to the idea that there are a great many words that should not be used by the general public due to incorrect usage. These words are as follows:

Ignorant
Misogamy
Your
Youre
Hopefully
Syndrome
Decimation or decimate

There are many more, but these are some for now.

I agree with you but I would like to add one more word to that abridged list:

Repugnant

That word is overused and misused!

Do you believe there should be any form of social programs?
You sound pretty Conservative. (I am not criticizing you, I am only asking.)

I do believe there should be some kinds of form of social programs, but the problem I have is that there are too many of them, and alot of them don't do #.

I don't have a problem with someone needs a boost for a little while to get on their feet, but when people are getting money from welfare for along period of time because they can't get off their ass, then I have aproblem. These people know they are lazy, they know it in the back of their minds.

I went to college with this girl that was in my politics class and she was pissed because some guy said " I hate people that are on welfare because all they do is sit on their ass, don't bother to get a job ect"...
Now he was stereotyping everyone who's on welfare and putting them in the same box.

This girl was angry because she was a hard working mom of 2 trying to get an education, pay her bills, and be a parent at the same time.

I don't have a problem with those kinds of people.
They are trying to make their way in this world, not sit on their ass all and no nothing...

So yes, I agree there should be programs, but I also think that if we are going to have them people should be certain requirements....

I would like to see a drug test taken for those who are seeking welfare, I would like to know their reasons why they are on welfare, and why they can't work...

THey will get angry and say that is an invasion of their privacy but if i'm going to be giving my tax dollar's away, i'd like to know who it's going to...

And while I do have "conservative" beliefs, i'm also pretty liberal, and when I say liberal, I don't mean socialist.

the Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis has developed the "Index of Dependency." The index charts the growth of five categories of federal programs that substitute for similar initiatives from lower levels of government or private organizations:
America's growing dependence on "entitlement" programs.
"Americans are becoming increasingly addicted to government, and politicians are becoming the dealers of the drug named 'dependency,'" DeMint said.

Everyone Line Up at the Trough

"Everyday in America, more and more people are receiving benefits from the federal government, getting their income and their health care from the federal government, and fewer and fewer people are paying for it," he said.
"We must figure out how to convince people that they are most secure when they hold their own future in their own hand, that they're most secure when they're most free," DeMint added.

Government dependency is the "antithesis of liberty,"
"Those who get government housing forfeit the right to determine where, how, and with whom they live. Those who get food stamps have given up the choices as to where and for what to shop, and those who depend on government for education have given up the ability to choose where their kids or how their kids are going to be taught," he said.

Kirsanow believes there are now more than 100 major federal programs that foster dependency.

Housing assistance: 30 percent.

Health and welfare support: 25 percent.

Retirement income: 20 percent.

Post-secondary educational subsidies: 15 percent.

Rural and agricultural services: 10 percent.
The percentage after each category is the "weight" of that individual category in the index, based on its relative importance.
the weights center on the year 1980 because that year is believed to mark "the beginning of the decline of left-of-center public policy and the emergence of right-of-center challenges" to those policies.

Therefore, when the historical data dating back to 1962 and projections through 2020 are viewed, the year 1980 appears as a "100" on the graph.

I DON'T MEAN TO KEEP CUTTING AND PASTING THIS ARTICLE, BUT THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT... PEOPLE CAN DENY THIS ALL THEY WANT BUT WHEN YOU SEE THIS KIND OF RESEARCH BEING DONE, IT MAKES ME WANT TO

WHY CAN'T PEOPLE WAKE UP??? IT'S LIKE SOMEONE BEING ADDICTED TO HEROIN, AND SAYING """WHHAAAT, I'M NOT ADDICTED, I DON'T DO DRUGS""""
or they'll give you the but speech.

"but but but but but...... blaaaah!

Look,

The top 25 percent of taxpayers pay 80 percent of all taxes, the bottom 50 percent pay only four percent of all taxes, and that doesn't include the millions who pay no taxes whatsoever, and those who pay little or no taxes are the ones most likely to access dependency programs.

I don't think we need people telling us which words to use and not to use..... Again, this is supposed to be a free society, don't be jumping on people's back's like a monkey just because you "think" people shouldn't be saying such words...

I can't believe how IGNORANT that it...

And i'm not kidding

I agree with you completely!!! There are deserving people out there that get a bad rap because of sponges that "Suck Off" society. I, too, grow tired of the abuses of the social welfare system in this country, and it all too often is by the same people who pay no taxes (no matter what the color of their skin).

However I believe that people should pay taxes based on their income. It only stands to reason that someone who makes $100k a yr. should pay more taxes than someone who makes $25k a year [dollar for dollar].

Would you agree?

I do try to refrain from feeding into his idiocy though. But when I put my fingers to the keyboard they have a mind of their own.

Ya know, I've kicked your monkey ass at least 3 times, USING YOUR OWN DAMN CASE LAW with your final response being some lame sterotypical racist taunt. Truly, I tire of you and your veiled racist comments, racist. However, you prove to each and everyone here that what I speak is true and correct.

Since you're a rookie, I suggest you read "The Colonel on Republicans" or "I hate Re;ublicans" started by me. So, say what you will and affirm to all here that read the truth of what I say: that you are repugnant and the spirit of Cain (evil) sits comfortably within you and the repugnants like you. And for that, you are destined to Hell. And the same compassion of conservatism you offer to those here, the demons of Hell will offer to you but 10-fold for eternity. Have a nice day.

I'm not telling people which words to use and not to use.

Personally I don't care all that much, it's just aggrivating to see people mess up words due to their ignorance of the english language.

It is very hard to take someone seriously who can not write or utilize words properly. It debases their arguement.

Actually, if you weren't so offendable, you might even take it as an incentive to learn.

Most people do not read enough, although it is clear that reading is a fundamental aspect to success in almost any arena.

But again, just my thoughts. If you think that I would seriously back word sensorship, then you have not read any of my posts, so I'd advise that first.

And by the way, I didn't say they should not be "allowed" to use them, I just said that they shouldn't.

I am a firm believer that people shouldn't talk out their ass, and using words that they don't know the meaning to falls into that category

We know that you were not advocating for Censorship.

You seem like far too intelligent a person for that. I wish all posters on this bulletin board were that smart.

Despite the differences of the dems & reps I know personally many current reps who plan to either vote indi or re-register as dems to make sure the criminal is not in the WH after Dec 2004.

I'm very proud to say that I've talked many into coming to HouseParties for Dean and they to were convinced that even the traditionalist of the GOP have an alternative to the criminal and his gang of thugs.

The bushcrimefamily will end its reign of terror once and forall, come November 2004.

haha, see its funny, because im black and i have no idea what your talking about!! believe me, when someone says something racsist, its blatant, i guess you can be called a " reverse racsist" by others.

Well, thanks for the compliment. Not sure how to take it though.

There are many smart people on this site and even in this area.

Colonel is someone that while I agree only half the time, I would ask to get coffee and talk about all kinds of things.

Seekerof
Big Joe hayner

and many others.

What YOU should be doing, is looking past the outward projection of what some people are saying to the point.

I am conservative, and have learned more about politics from serious libs than from other conservatives.

They help sharpen your debate and your points.

You on the otherhand seem to fall into the trap laid by many, in getting angry.

Anger kills any and all points of view.

That's because no one was talking to you, certainly not I. Why would I talk to someone who calls himself "Minion." Why would I want to talk to a schmuck, a subordinate lackey, somebody's flunkie, Mr. Stepinfetchit? Huh? Why would I talk to someone like that? You need to go somewhere and re-evaluate yourself.
