Yes we did, not only that but we also had uncharged innocent people interned indefinitely without trial. In addition we had innocent people imprisoned for many years following some of the most appalling miscarriages of justice in recent British history.

Banks have always made large profits, have you ever seen a poor banker? The point you made was that recent developments in banking technology took control of our finances away from us which is simply not true and if it worries you that much you can withdraw your cash and use that.
