No one is going to credit you in the news for thread topics that are referencing other news sources.

And the point of view offered with the referencing info is not ATS’s but the poster.

I created a topic and now you have co-opted it for other preferred members that belong your so called news network?

Why would I post anything now?

Thread authorship or creation is half the fun of posting…

Oh well excuse us for trying to start a serious news site, you know the entire world doesnt deal in smoke and mirrors, there is a reality that some people would like to hear about.

If you don't like the site then get the # out, we wont stop you and we wont cry a tear if you leave.

Once a topic appears on ATSNN, anyone can respond.

Your thread was a duplicate topic, we've normally just removed duplicate topics... I thought I was being nice explaining why your duplicate topic was locked.

Seems like you began this little rant of yours with an attack on the hard work of a few people... no wonder you get heated responses.

You also said, "You are taking yourself way too seriously with this ATSNN.com" well... you seem to be taking one thread of yours a bit too seriously? No?

As is the case with any effort of management, judgment calls need to be made. I saw the two threads, noticed yours was indeed posted first, considered moving yours to the news forum, but the introduction post was light in content, while the other thread had a better introduction. So, it was my judgment to lock your thread and place a link to the news thread.

Yes, many times there are duplicate topics... very often one is trashed (we have a hidden forum where removed threads go), sometimes they stay because there are two different takes on the same subject, and sometimes they remain because the busy staff simply doesn't notice.

In the case of your thread, someone noticed, and made a judgment call. The call favored an ATSNN reporter, well, it may happen. However, some threads have been moved to ATSNN (and others might be in the future) which haven't been authored by an ATSNN reporter. In that case, the author ends up receiving 3x the points for replies because the thread has been "upgraded".

Like I said, judgement call.

However, no one will ever see a member's thread, write a new "better" thread for ATSNN, then shut-down the original thread. That simply won't happen (and didn't happen in this case).

If your opening post is lucid and well composed, we'll move the thread to ATSNN where you get increased points for each response... and hopefully broader exposure of your material.

Not starting a row but isn't this news section getting like Bts and getting in the way of Ats maybe you should give it its own folder like ATS/ BTS/ ATSNN/ what do you think

ok i've been at odds with the ATS staff several times in the past, but for once i have to agree with everybody else, chill out man, i do agree that some of the ways this board is run can be improved, but in this case, nothing was done wrong, 2 threads were made on the same topic, 1 was better, the better one got chosen to remain, dont take offense at this, learn from it, develop your posting skills so next time, its YOUR topic that gets chosen. If you only feel the need to attack and whine and bitch, then as everybody else says, go away, you're no use to anybody doing that and you are NOT going to get what you want

ATSNN..'xcellent idea...i think that those who put some time in on thier postings should be... 'rewarded'...and some of the info should be singeled out cause it is relevant and good..............lately there has been alot of neophytes that post 'nothings'..and prob should be on a dif board all together. the cig man needs some time...................................

I have to agree, ATSNN is an excellent idea. Having breaking news on a seperate thread-base makes it much easier to spot and react accordingly.
