This is a no-brain-er non-event news. I can only, like the OP, wonder what's the intention.

Anybody doing long haul air-travels are likely to experience minor clots.
A survey done a few years back, showed even young people in their twenties had minor clots in limps following air-travels.

They don't necessary cause any discomfort the individual would notice.

So this is nothing... .. He didn't suffer a massive clot causing stroke of the leg. Like I did ... could have screamed.

Cheney never suffered any pain or they would have told us so.

Or maybe he did, and now they're trying to play it down.

Nah...! Then he'd never gone back to work.

Must be tough for Cheney. Not only has he a clot in his leg, but he's got one for a boss too.

How about this to add to the theory?

Since Scooter Libby was found guilty, Cheney could be the next one investigated. To avoid impeachment, etc., he develops a "blood clot" and has to step down. Once he steps down, he admits to guilt, and is pardoned by W to prevent any further prosecution.

I always figured that in the last year or so he'd step down and they'd put Dr. Rice up as VP. That way the republicans could claim to have a woman highest in office as well as a black person.

But upon watching W and his speeches ... i'm now thinking that Cheney HAS to stay in. He's really running things.

I think Cheney would rather die of heartfailure first.
