On topic...

Bush43 Has definatly had more than a helping hand in life...

with an ex-president as a Dad that's pretty much a given!

Bush is not dumb! He makes Dumb decisions but he is not dumb! a dumb person cannot make the populace of the largest single power in the world vote for him.

He is brilliant in his own sick, demented and self serving manner! He has carried out his own personal agenda in his two terms and he has carried out his agenda with very little reistance!

Clinton on the other hand gets a BJ from some silly girl and ends up nearly impeached funny that coming from the nation with the highest internet porn subscription rate

Bur seriously for Bush to have carried out his agenda for as long as he has proves he is no moron!

Don't forget there are autistic children who find normal everyday life impossible and to you and I they appear dumb but some have unimaginable talents at mathematics, art etc.

Be safe

Unfortunately, as an American, I can't necessarily disagree with this. I think part of what makes Bush attractive to some people is because he has this "everyday Joe" way about him. He doesn't seem stiff and unapproachable like the stereotypical intellectual does to the average person.

This is very much the truth, but there is a difference between being an aveage joe, and a complete crackpot. He seems approachable, but that doesnt make me feel any better about him. The only problem is that having a "recovering" alcoholic running one of the most powerful countries in the world is not a comforting feeling. Especially since he could go on a bender after a tough Saturday night, and bring out the "nucular" football for a quick game on the WH lawn with Karl and Dick.

ooops..

This clip equates how America feels about its leader...sad but true

Bush is the biggest buffoon in the whole of Christendom, the Neocons wanted a mindless bufoon and they got one and an even greater insult to most Americans are those who say he is smart or was.

This is a man who would of on his own achieved nothing but with a corrupt family and daddy to drag his bumbling ass along the American people have had the biggest joker of all time foisted on them. I'm certain that their are many Americans far more capable and literate than he is who would make very good Presidents but those who stole the Election dont one someone with a sharp mind who can see what their up to.

To the American peoples shame they have allowed this JACKASS to make their country a laughing stock. America and its people deserve someone of far higher standing than this muddle headed stammering bufoon.

Hello, Jim. How are you, bud?

Well, I have conflicting opinion about Mr. Bush. I guess, like all humans, I try to think the best of everyone. I know that's a bit much to do for some people's sake, but, I try anyway.

Oh, you were replying to my statement about Iraq. Well,Jimmy,
I am not a fan of the war. However, since we are over there, I think it's imperative that our soldiers be given the jurisdiction to do what they were sent to do. Whatever the hell that was, exactly...

What really hurts me is that I know a bunch of good, innocent people have gotten killed in this effort to get rid of a handful of some pretty bad people.

Who do you suggest? I don't know if you live here in the states, but have you looked at the candidates that are up for a presidential bid in 2008? I don't know about anyone else, but I am not comforted. Not at all. :shk:

For Democrats to suggest that Bush is a buffoon is funny to me!

If Bush is such a buffoon, why couldn't Democrats beat him in the last 2 Presidential elections.

Hillary Clinton knows how brilliant Bush is. That is why she waited until 2008 to run for President. And we all know how smart Hillary is!

Actually a Democrat did beat Bush, his name was Al Gore.
Again,Bush is the only president in history to become president and lose the populous vote.
Meaning more AMericans voted for him, instead of Bush.
And Bush didnt win that election. He was appointed president by the Supreme Court.
If there were no electoral votes, the people would have be heard and Al Gore would have been president.

A couple of others have mentioned this but.........

His inability to speak well in public says nothing about his level of intelligence. I think it is either a learning disability, a result of a medical problem or a result of a self induced medical problem. charismatic people are often not smart and smart people are often not charismatic. Bad grammar or spelling are also no indicator of intelligence even though intellectual snobs would try to convince you it does.

As the others did I'll offer myself up as an example. I scored high enough on the SAT's (CSAT's at my age which were required every year) to gain acceptance into an Ivy League at the age of 10. I actually started at age 16, three years younger than the other Freshmen. They told me my IQ was in the 145 to 150 range and I accept that because I never had to study to get perfect scores on tests. When it comes to speaking to crowds I'm a total looser. My grammar is bad and when it comes to writing I rely on a spell checker. When applying to University's my test scores were through the roof but they made me take remedial English courses due to my lack of skills in that subject. Even now I use an employee to deal with speaking to crowds or greeting them when needed. The fellow I use now is very charismatic and I would guess he was a borderline special education student in school but his people skills are awesome which makes up for his lack of learning ability. My best friend has an estimated IQ of over 180 and everyone but the military, who exploited him, thinks he is dumb or even retarded. He has suffered greatly because of this. He works on calculus equations for entertainment. One of my cousins was one of the youngest full Professors in history and we used to make fun of him for being dumb because he couldn't grasp a simple board game or put a nut on a bolt to save his life. I have seen example after example of this same thing.

My point in all this is that no matter what you think of Bush to consider him dumb just because he is a poor public speaker is false logic. In fact that awkwardness is quite common among the most intelligent people on Earth.

I remember reading an article in Time magazine, I think it was after he won his second term in early 2005. It talked about how surprisingly engaged the President is, how he really reads what is handed to him and seems to know about the issues at hand. This is all coming from congressmen, cabinet members and the like. Too bad the Time site only allows you to search for articles up til 2003, I'd really like to find that article.

I think it's a fallacy in itself to judge George W. Bush. It's not his fault hes just doing what hes told.

He is not as thick as he looks. People can get nervous he looks nervous and he gets blank spots or starstruck as they call it. Maybe he is ill prepared sometimes. But when he has to make speeches he actually sounds like one of the best around he does sound impressive. But he also loses him self sometimes, maybe he drinks and keeps it secret. He did not drink when he met the royals in the UK. Maybe he thought they use blood for their reptillian changes or something in their wine. But even so it's seems more like nerves and on his day he makes more sense than the average guy and knows more than the average guy and has more courage to speek to many people. The other thing is that apparently he is wired up to remember certain things. Either for television speaches or by puppet control over him or just nerves as he needs to remember lots of things.

I think Bush is of normal intelligence, but he's in over his head and he knows it. The stress has effected his performance. He's just nothing special or very talented. It's obvious that he's spent his whole life trying to living up to his Daddy's expectations and success. He failed in every major business effort he made and his dad's friends had to bail him out every time. Just like Jim Baker tried to do recently with the war on Iraq. It's been reported that Bush was obsessed with Iraq before 9/11 because he wanted to go finish the job his Dad didn't. He's trying to be better than Daddy and failling miserably. He's not so much dumb as inadequate for the job. Because he knows it, he takes advice from people like Cheney and Rumsfeld who have their own agendas that get in the way of offering Bush good advice. Because he knows it, he drives out people like Colin Powell and others who question him. He's so aware of his own inadequacies that he has become paranoid. Now Bush and his policies are paying the price for it.

But he was Governor of Texas you say. So what. In Texas the governor is not very powerful. It's bascially a figure head position. Most of the power is with the Lt. Governor. Maybe this is why Bush breaks the laws and steps over the Constitution like he is a King? He's to incompetent to be an effective persuasive leader so he bullies his way around. He not a dunce. He's just terribly inadequate. It would be like picking any average Joe off the streets and giving him all of Bush's family connections and advantages. On the other hand an average joe would probably do a better job.

Just incase anyone missed it.

I had to momentarily ponder upon seeing this....I mean...is there.....ANY.....WAY..... Bush has been a total NWO mouthpiece and intentionally wears a jesters mask? I mean, could a majority of this "bafoon" as people say be an facade? The media compared him strategically to Gore, painting Bush as a down to earth normal guy and people could relate to that. If you watch this mid 90's Gubernatorial footage......what happened? It seems a bit too "big ole conspiracy" that Bush would be an intentional mind-trick on the masses. But given the present state of things........I dunno.....[/yvid]

Its true that Bush is not the Worlds best orator, but a dumbass no way. He sticks to his principles, does his job and does what he says. That's quite rare in a politician. To me he doesn't seem smart, shifty and soft rather simple, blunt and hard. The US has not had attack on its soil since 9/11. Given the stated aims and tactics of Al Qaeda at the time that's quite an achievement.

SuperPaul, yeah, he is certainly a scapegoat... Someone who can conveniently be blamed.

Do you think that it's possible that the president could be being blackmailed or is being held hostage?

Who, in there right mind, would volunteer to be a scapegoat?

There is one other possibility:

He is actually brilliant and is just playing the clown while he moves the agenda forward. Cause enough strife outside and inside of the country to destroy it one way or the other.

I don't think, they really care how it happens just as long as the inevitable actually occurs. It's not so much the method that matters, as much as the result.

Shrub as he's derisively called here in Texas by many of his detractors when he was gov. is a political savage from a a family of political savages. My personal belief is that he will not make it to '08 without a very serious political scandal ruining any legacy he hopes to leave.

Bill Clinton was impeached largely because of his poor taste in extramarital sex partners. If he'd got caught with a hot looking woman like Jenna Jameson, we could have forgiven him for that but Monica Lewinsky was a cry for help.

Bush II is in fact from Conn. not Texas. Don't let the accent fool you he's got a typical Ivy League education on how to play the game of Houses. If you've watched the news closely, the Bush daughters have bought a 23k acre ranch in Argentina for some damn reason. Wonder if Bush is going to pull a quick exit and head for South America?

Your absolutely right, he does "Stay the course". I believe Stephen Colbert said it best... "Bush believes the same thing on wednesday as he did on monday, regardless of what happens on tuesday"

Just to let you know, sticking to what you said isn't always a good thing. Espcially when everyday you refuse to acknowledge what may have been a mistake, and its costs the lives of innocents. Thats just plain arrogant stubborness. Sorry but I think hes pathetic!
