jbird, the questions aren't technically following a timeline as much as the answers. the first one goes back to the secret of the pyramids, then babylon, then christianity, then the leaning tower of pisa, then plague and use, then 1905 schlieffen plan.

I can stay up late, making more coffee as we speak, this questions starting to get to me, I am beginning to hate the name ferdinand. Speaking of which, not meaning to open a can of worms or anything, but has anyone looked into the possibility that it could be a name variation such as fernando or something like that?

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if I can contribute much to this game, since I'm usually very busy with school, but since I have a couple of hours to kill right now, I thought I should probably do something. Anyways, I think that the best thing to do at this point would be to make a list of all the possible answers, and figure out which ones have been tryed extensively and failed.

Possible Ferdinands:
Ferdinand I - Holy Roman Emporer
Ferdinand II - Holy Roman Emporer
Ferdinand III - Holy Roman Emporer
Archduke Franz Ferdinand
Ferdinand The Great
Ferdinand I of Austria (Also known as Ferdinand V of Hungary and Bohemia?)
Ferdinand II of Aragon (also known as Ferdinand 5 of Castile?)
Ferdinand VII of Spain
Ferdinand I of The Twi Sicilies (Naples)
Ferdinand I of BulgariaFerdinand Magellen
Ferdinand Marcos

Possible Answers (but does't work):
albertii
Sigismund

4?:
4 as in generations/rulers
4 as in time period (years, months, days)
4 as in location (miles)

Who might the answer be?:
A Holy Roman Emporer
A Pope
Papal Bulls

Maybe we should focus on who the answer can be, since otherwise, somebody might end up finding the right answer but not even know it.

Tinwiki updated to reflect new page. Someone won the prize, and the new clue is:

(hint: it is considered a tipping point)

Oh, and thanks for the WATS jbird!

hmmm what was a tipping point. the assassination of franz ferdinand is not what its refering to I realized. its rather unfortunate this clue gives me little help, only because the clue refers to the event, but we have no idea where to look for the event, or what the event even is. We dont know what it was a tipping point for, or anything.

im thinking about it now.

the answer isnt a person. weve been guessing people, but it said it is considered a tipping point, as in an event. a tipping point is an event not a person.

hmmm so the answer isnt any ruler named off for certain.

A couple of pages ago, something said the answer could be the Great Schism, but I don't think that was explored too much. If the answer is a "tipping point", then the Great Schism would fit the description.

So far, I've tried:
schism
greatschism
thegreatschism
eastwestschism
filioqueclause (and different variations)
nicenecreed (and variations)

Yeah, finally another clue-ette.

I think I'm gonna tangent toward looking for an actual Rule.( i.e. Law,proclamation, etc)

I think I've typed in every proper name in Western Europe

And w_t_r , it was the least I could do , after making a specific request, and being basically Wiki-illiterate.

I swore I was gonna check into Wiki editing after last game , but kinda forgot about it.

Well, I found that (duke) Ferdinand of Brunswick was in the illuminati. So I am thinking that there must be something along those lines. But gotta go for the night. Good luck all.

there was also a conspiracy involving ferdinand marcos and the catholic church.
In 1986 it was the Catholic Church that proved the tipping point of the regime of Ferdinand Marcos.

i just never posted saying i got it ATS was right on top of it though..

here is another bit to go with the ferdinand marcos thoery:
Indonesia, May 1998: The shooting of four student protesters was the tipping point that turned the Reformasi campaign against then-president Suharto into a full-blown revolution.

i tried reformasi campaign but it didnt work.

oh, I was going by the fact the game page recently changed to 'REWARD GIVEN'.

Jeeze, I hope we're not jumping to 1998

that would be jumping a whole century.

Just to clear things up a bit.
Tipping Point: The phrase tipping point or angle of repose is a sociological term that refers to that dramatic moment when something unique becomes common.

We are looking for a unique happening that is now commonplace in society, surrounding one of the Ferd's.

OMG that don't narrow it down at all.

Gee thanks for nothing Maxx.

MaxxLarge looking for the ordinary in the umbiguous world of conspiracy.

Peace...

an alternate definition is
Main Entry: tipping point
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: the culmination of a build-up of small changes that effects a big change

Source

I also found this:
Inadvertently, and perhaps there is no other way, von Kluck changed the course of history. He brought Western Civilization to "the tipping point."

Von Kluck is the inspiration for the expression 'you dumb kluck.' He is blamed for having departed from the Schlieffen Plan which Germany followed in its attack on France in 1914.
