From a conspriacy angle I think Trump blew it up to scare and perhaps damage other near bye buildings which would need to be torn down. Makes for a good location of high rise condos dont cha think. Near Park Ave, and Near central park very good location.

Now back to the real world they are claiming it was due to a gas explosion

You're talking like we live in communist china now, they hire armed thugs and send in demo people and blow up peoples houses and lite farms on fire to build a casino or a office building.etc

You must be joking....

I mean do you really think the ChiComs would risk thermonuclear war by blowing up a 4 story building containg a couple of doctors' offices and apartments?

Someone got whacked, bad. Probally a building full of chinese Falon gung people and the chinese assassins blew them up like they did in Australia.

You're really hung up on that, arn't you? All the news is saying that there was only one person in the building (who they have rescued), two pedestrians, and one firefighter who were injured... But they're just covering that all up, now arn't they?

While that could be a good location for some new buildings, I really doubt that Trump would be behind it. Sure, he has money and power, but he also has enemies... If word got out that he was in anyway behind such an operation, he would lose everything. The guy may take risks, but he's not insane.

And so are you, going by your previous post... I'm a bit confused by that comment.

Good news.

At least one person has been rescued from the collapsed building.

Firefighters dug one person, a doctor who owned the building, from the rubble about an hour after the blast, and two other people and a firefighter were taken to hospitals, Fire Department spokesman Jim Long said.

www.msnbc.msn.com...

And as reported earlier in the thread a natural gas explosion is suspected as cause

Fire officials suspected a natural gas leak caused the explosion and fire. Shortly before the blast, a utility crew had been in the building next door responding to a report of a natural gas smell.

Just had a press conference and one of the fire commissioners stated they are or might be looking into an email which alledgedly imply it may have been possible suicide.

That was seen on MSNBC

I was refering to his post, about them blowing up the buildings to build a better building in its place. Its very similar to what they do in some other countrys when the government wants some land to construct a better building.

www.theepochtimes.com...

kinda like here. if they are met with force they literally shot rockets at the buildings and such. Plus i read something wrong and got the wrong impression sorry lol.

possible suicide

Seems like a really hardcore way to off yourself.

EDIT: though after second thought, sticking ones head in an oven to suffocate yourself from the gas isn't out of the question. I suppose if someone did that and tha gas ran for long enough, the building could explode like that.

Anyohe who would try to commit suicide by blowing up a building and putting other people in danger is really evil

I wonder if there's any truth to this report....I guess time will tell.

But then why would be call 911 for help... and then stay on the line so they could pinpoint where he is via tiangulation and GPS?

EDIT TO ADD: And how could that much gas leak out without causing asphyxiation?

Perhaps the explosion was secondary to the suicide? If someone were to suffocate themself by sticking thier head in an oven or something like that, nobody would be around to turn off the gas. It would only be a matter of time before an explosion.

Well if you want to commit suicide you shouldn't do that if you live in a building that houses other people...just go to the doctor and get some kind of controlled substance prescription and take all the pills at once.

No matter how it happened, if it was a suicide attempt, the method was still evil IMHO.

Well, no one lives in the building... And the guy is a doctor, so he could have just taken all the pills in his stockpile at once.

Well, no one lives in the building

Do we know this yet?

It's not uncommon to have businesses on the lower floors with apartments on the upper levels.

I've had CNN on since finding this thread, and that's what they're saying. There are residential buildings nearby, though.

There have been conflicting reports whether others live in the same building, but even if no one lived in the same building, such an explosiion damages neighboring buildings in such a densely built up area like the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The American Red Cross is already on the scene providing housing and other services to nearby residents who can't return to their homes until the authorities declare them to be structurally sound.

edit:

Also remember NYC is a city of pedestrians, and I'm sure there were plenty of people walking by that building when it exploded. It's only by the grace of God than none have been killed.

The doctor that was injured did live in the building on the third floor. reportedly after the explosion he fell threw the building with a phone 9probably on his belt) and once down he called 911 or that is that they are alleging on MSNBC. MSNBCs banner now is stating lead theory is possible suicide attempt.

reportedly the same doctor had sent an email earlier in the day which related to being despondent but they have not released the email to confirm that theory

cnn.com shows it being a residential building.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- An explosion and fire leveled a residential building on New York's Upper East Side

Fire Department officials said their best information so far indicates Bartha was the owner of the building, a doctor who had his offices there and lived on the upper floors.

If the guy trying to killl himself was the doctor himself (who actually ended up surviving) it's even worse....why didn't he just write himself a prescription for barbiturates and die quietly? There must be more to this story IMHO.

I think Dr Nicholas Bartha communicated a suicide wish via email. Went out with a bang and put all others in harms way.
Looks like the good dr. was a suicide bomber, eh???

Seems like a possibility. At any rate this is quite an bizarre story.

Fire Department Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta said officials suspect the doctor, who was in critical condition, might have caused a natural gas leak in a suicide attempt. "It is possible it is a suicide [attempt],"

www.msnbc.msn.com...

Possibly the doctor?
