set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in
Washington, D.C., on Sunday,
in apparent protest of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war,
which he described as a “genocide.”

I believe this is the second such incident in three months.
One ridiculous article stated, that a spoke person from the embassy,
called it an act of "hate"
Wth ? self-emolliation is a 'hate' crime ?

What made this an "act of Hate" was the reason why he did it, and not what he did. There are some questions about this person that still need to be asked. Until we have those questions answered we shouldn't over look the messaging for the human cost.

Was this man acting on his own accord? By this I mean was he mentally sound at the time, or was he drugged and coerced into doing the act.

Was this man that burned really the active duty person that they are being sold as being? Could this have been a religious zealot that took the Airman's identity or was this the actual Airman as stated.

Just because a person had protested through self-emollition, doesn't mean that its all cut and dry.

Per the account, Bushnell trained as a client systems technician, working in IT management and as a devops engineer for the last year. According to his LinkedIn account, Bushnell was pursuing a Bachelors of Science in software engineering at Southern New Hampshire University. He was “looking for SkillBridge programs to transfer [his] skills into the software engineering career field.”

The idea that he was somehow supporting any operation in Gaza is a headscratcher at best. Also, if he joined the Air Force in '20 then how is it that he was looking for a civilian job so soon in '24. If he didn't like the US Military's stance he could have just walked away in a few months when his contract was up. The story needs more context as to what was really going on.

Can you explain how this is supposed to save humanity? People that seek martyrdom are doing so for self-satisfaction.

As for the people not understanding, well I guess I'm loveless since I feel we are not being told something on this story. I will admit that it's still new and facts are not coming out very fast, but still, something isn't quite right about this.

What an idiot. He's actually better off deceased. If he would have survived, he would of ended up in prison for failure to obey an order, amongst other violations.

To kill yourself/commit suicide/self sacrifice is definitely not an act of love. If they know what they are doing it is one of the most selfish and childish things a human can perpetrate on those left to figure out why and pick up the pieces. Saying that people that do it are all "not right in the head". By that I don't mean anything derogatory, they are not reasoning as a stable human should do. Which leads to these deadly solutions that in their mind seem reasonable.

Believe me, this is true because I've been there twice. It's a very dark place.

I see this as an act of cowards.

Instead of standing up and fighting, you die. It seems to me, he wanted to kill himself....Israel was just the excuse.

I have not been in a dark way like that, ever. Problems are temporary, suicide is permanent.

I have had a few close family and friends go out this way. It sucks for all involved in the aftermath.
