Its starting to feel like anyone who defends Israel's right to self defense is automatically viewed as SUPPORTING slaughter of civilians.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Personally, I think it's just more emoting, and not really rational objective thinking. And virtue signaling for some.

How about you tell us what Israel's response should be?

Did you just get a book about fallacy statements and this one stuck to you? You've now accused two people of a false equivalence without knowing what it is. Why is it so hard for you to understand the statement "you get what you paid for?" I dont feel sorry for people in Portland whining about the crime rate the same way i dont care about these clowns whining about getting bombs dropped on them after voting hamas in as their leadership.

It's true that false equivalencies are made.

You can't equate support for ceasefire and for not killing innocent civilians with support for Hamas. Is that simple.

I don't know. But that's not the subject of the conversation.

It looks like people are sane enough by signing these letters and asking for ceasefire.

No Hamas attack early on that Saturday morning, no hostage-taking, and there wouldn't have been the Israeli response we have witnessed the last 13 days.

Hamas leaders had to know the response was going to be harsh as hell

That's not true though.

You can't just kill thousands of innocent civilians in the name of self-defense.

The letter i linked discusses precisely what myself and others have been saying in the last few days.

It isn't pretty. Its very ugly. It kills millions of civilians. Ask the Israelis. They know, most have lost someone to war as a civilian in a very brutal, purposeful way.
