Posted on rt.com so take that as you will.

It seems militia groups have started taking back areas from the Taliban, starting with 3 area north of the capital.

So far reports suggest that between 15 and 30 fighters have been killed and more captured, Taliban that is.

The groups have asked for weapons and funding to help them fight the taliban.

www.rt.com...

Be interesting to know the numbers off fighters involved, but they caused the taliban to flee the areas.

The problem is that without some kind of centralized command center, you would never know to whom you were actually giving aid. Could be the Taliban itself. They wouldn't actually need in need of equipment as Beijing Joe has seen to it that they're well supplied (Thank you, leader of the free world!), but they might want to interdict material support away from potential resistance.

wouldn't that be something?

Watch bai-den unleash the rods from god to stop them.... can't have anything getting in the way of the chinese takeover...

Mineral rich for mining? check.
Huge oil reserves? check.
Massive farms for various drugs to resell at a premium via the insurance scam? cheeee-ack!

No amount of weapons funding will help fight the taliban- they've just gotten billions of dollars in US military equipment.
Tanks, choppers, buildings full of rifles... drones, high end optics. Every kid willing to risk his life for the cause over there just got a free humvee with high end weaponry, while those of us back in the US working several jobs can barely pay the bills- let alone buy a used vehicle.
Now two of the biggest vehicle manufacturers in the country are cutting production over computer chip shortages, so the cost of vehicles will double twice more in the next two years.

The whole world is going to collapse, china and russia will be the only superpowers left in ten years...
The middle east will be lost to memory, likely overrun by china and strip mined for oil and minerals. They don't care so much about the people there, so they'll be wiped out.
Bioweapon, nuclear, or other? we'll see.

Biden and his government doesn’t like this at all. If the people of Afghanistan can take back their country, what is to stop the people of The United States of America from taking back their government?

Good luck and Godspeed to them.

I read a little while ago that Taliban fighters are dressing up in US soldier uniforms... If the Taliban think that's going to buy them some cred and not got them shot on sight, they should probably think again. The Afghanistan resistance has every reason to consider the US its mortal enemy and act accordingly.

I hate to say it, or even think it, but it is what it is.

Corn syrup, mostly...

but also a complete lack of communication.
For nearly two generations they've been using myspace (live journal? friend face?) to communicate, then nearly a decade back the idiot in charge allowed the corrupt CIA/FBI/NSA to take full control of the media, which includes those forms of communication, to be used for propaganda.
Since then, the people have been brainwashed into being.... well, a bunch of snowflakes. At the first sign of conflict, half the US population would whither and die.

Reverting to form.

Their society has tribal warfare as a feature. With the outsiders gone, the tribes will go at each other again.

Cheers

I saw this earlier today.

Its says there are 300 trained fighters and there leaders.
We already armed Isis, and the Taliban. What's stopping us from helping them out?

I have a sneaking suspicion that may well be the way British and European partners may go if things start to get really bad over there, by all accounts they are already bad.

I think if the Taliban dont become this moderate government they promise ( of course they wont), then funding for militias with a few special forces thrown in will be the option we choose.

Not surprising, most of the people in Afghanistan no longer want the Taliban and in fact have come more and more to HATE them, especially with them now gunning down protestors and going house to house, raping and murdering woman and children and treating the Afghans as there slaves.

I am surprised this did not happen in the city's with vigilante's going around waylaying them in the dark, at least some Afghans must have kept there weapon's, At least some of them must have known they would have to fight back eventually.

They have had 20 years of friendly occupation and realized after much time that it was the Taliban that were killing more civilians and that the West actually tried to give them a modern country, a whole generation have been born in that time and shall grow up remembering that they had freedom, especially the woman folk.

But the Taliban have Chinese backing and probably had Chinese satellite images to help them in there reinvasion of the country.

At numbers as low as below three hundred thousand the Taliban actually do not really have enough manpower to maintain control over the much larger population and will be spread very thin if they do try, unit's of the former Afghan Army will likely have joined them but other unit's will likely also FIGHT against them for there people.

At the moment old divisions along tribal lines are starting to fracture it and the problem is unless a general insurgency is established to take back there country it shall degenerate into warlords fighting warlords as it has many times before.

I was reading that this morning.

It still boggles my mind that Twitter allows Taliban members to tweet about killing people - which is what one of them did after those attacks, saying something along the lines of “all the people who stood up will now have to be killed.”
Which was A-Ok with twitts ToS I guess.
But the president got kicked off because some people didn’t like what he had to say.

Bit of an update, again from rt.com.

Looks like around 7000 militia have formed along with some afghan soldiers and are defending a valley region.

The leader happens to be the son of one of the warlords that the US helped in the fight against the Soviets.

www.rt.com...

They dont have the advantage of having the US military equipment the Taliban have, but the valley they are defending only has one real entrance making it hard to attack.

Read the article if you like as it has interesting information of their goals.

Just to add, the Taliban have stated all those involved now have to die, unsurprisingly.

Plus side of that is most of that equipment will break down very quickly without trained mechanics.
