Unbelievable.
Police need to enforce some law and order.

But the libtard mayor of Seattle, Jenny Durkan, in fact told the police chief to evacuate and not to enforce any laws. The police chief went on tv to state she was being forced by the major to leave, even though she obviously didn't want to do that. Now Seattle's libtard mayor is saying the created zone by anarchists, socialists, and communists will perhaps last all summer, and is calling it "the summer of love..." To the radical left which includes a majority of democrats, violence, and chaos is now "love..."

More than that, the police chief stated on the news that rapes, robberies, and all sorts of violence is occurring in those areas, and have tripled, but the police can't get to those areas.

Blows my mind a little to see ATS so anti this.

We have cops saying that while the law says you can open carry it is illegal to open carry if it intimidates... um thats just bs. Open carry laws are there to protect your right to say, stand on me you will get stung.

I get the violence and destruction is horrible to see but history shows freedom and right are anything but free. If you dont stand up and fight for those you will have nothing.

For the record i do not support the BLM movement, its focus is on one color/race which by definition is racist. I feel it creates more division at a time we need to unite.

HOWEVER, i support their right to protest, their right to do what they have to to be heard and defend their right to stand up and say enough is enough. I can support that even if it is not something i personally agree with because deny their rights i am denying my own rights to do the same when i am the one being stood on.

Before someone says but they committed xyz crime. Individuals commit crimes, the group is not the individual. If it was the whole police force should be in jail right now.

We have had nothing but sold out douchebags for mayor for some time, Jenny is just our newest low

She sounds like she wants chaos on our streets, I know she wont get re elected since the actual citizens want to go back to work... she is playing from a different playbook entirely

I'm speechless. And whats worse is someone will be along to "explain" it to you..us, because "we just don't get it".

And that person would be right. I don't understand idiocy.

I'm sure...wait, I KNOW, lots are well versed in it or we wouldn't be seeing what we've seen over the past 10 years.

"His own kind"?

Interesting turn of phrase.

Raz is more than likely doing all this to gain "street cred" for his mediocre career. To me, he looked like a badly drawn caricature. However, he is technically a rapper, and you may remember that rappers don't always use politically correct terms. Good to know Redstate is now concerned about PC.

The guy with the machete certainly seems to have some issues. Glad no one was hurt.

Not what I said of course.

Rappers commonly also use racist and sexist terms. Are you "upset" about that too?

Big rap fan, are you? Or are you suddenly PC? Pfft.

Here's an update from the Capitol City Seattle Blog on the CHAZ ...

Capitol City Seattle Blog

Protestors have gathered in the CHAZ at the intersection of Pine and 12th since Monday night, when police boarded up the precinct, cleared out of the area and re-opened surrounding streets after a week of standoffs and violent police crowd control. Protestors are now trying to figure out what next steps to take, especially after reports that some officers came back inside the building and Chief Best announced that the SPD is making plans to return.

Interesting minor fact there ... it was Seattle PD that had "blocked off" the area prior to Monday night. I wonder how that was for business owners and residents, eh?

City Councilor Kshama Sawant is apparently the ... liason ... between the City and the protesters. Wow, talk about an extremist ... she's something else. He has a plan to repurpose the Precinct house into a community center? Guess we'll see.

As far as those here who are certain that these protesters are a united credible force that is in insurrection can rest a bit calmly. As is usually true with "left" actions, they're already fracturing into factions:

“I’m a little bit annoyed when I come out and I just see people chilling on the field that I fought for,” one speaker who lives in the area told the crowd. “What does that have to do for Black lives? What does that do to protect me because right now all I know is [police] walked back in, they walked back into the neighborhood that I fought for. So you guys could chill here and learn and all this, but what does it actually mean when the cops come back? The thing is I respect that this is the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, but I’m just going to be honest: that sounds way too white to me. I live here, I fought for it — this is Black Block.”

Sad to say, that's why these sorts of actions never make a lot of progress in my opinion. Liberals have been conditioned to split into tiny slivers of identity politics ... which means, net, that there's never any consensus on the bigger issues.

And honestly, as to the "speaker" above ... I'm opposed to segregation of any stripe. /shrug

I'm just curious if anyone here on ATS has visited this place?

I was on a zoom meeting with someone who lives up there and said that the way the media pictures this place is not what he has seen. He says, and he has visited several times during the day, that it is like a festival. People are enjoying themselves. Some people are singing, dancing etc.

He has not seen armed guards. He was not questioned before entering. He was not shaken down for money.

I know that a lot of people on this site do not trust the media because the media tries to sensationalize things.

Why are you believing the media in this case?

Thanks for that post. I'm not in Seattle, I'm across the country in Georgia, but even I could see that many here are jumping on a bandwagon created by their media.

Not to say that there aren't any issues. If there is gangland actions against individuals and businesses as some have reported, that's a serious matter that does nothing but corrupt the claims of "peaceful protest."

Thanks for speaking up!
