I know he has pretty much lost the primary. But I'm seeing quite a lot of Americans eagerly accept a government dole check.

I had quite a lot of fun spending mine!

With the increased acceptance toward a socialist kind of government, and the Tara Reade accusations, I'm wondering: Do you think Bernie Sanders would be a stronger contender now?

Perhaps stronger than Biden?

Perhaps strong enough to topple the mighty Trump!?!?!?!?

I think the next month will give a better picture.
I am not willing to speculate atm. But hey if Trump can go full on business man then then he has a strong chance of winning. But if fails then slim chance. I don’t really Like any candidate L or R.

I'm a moderate republican. I would vote for bernie before voting for Biden. I don't agree with Bernie politically, but at least he stays on message, even if it is wrong. Between Trump and Bernie, it comes down to if Trump can put the USA back to work, or atleast give the perception that its not him holding it up. Its the governors, its congress, etc to blame. So if Trump can get us back working the next 3 months, then yes I think he will win. If its 6 months, its a big maybe. I still think Biden is going to get eaten alive in the debates, but we will see.

Umm... Stronger? perhaps... but still weak. Due to health issues. I think Bernie should calm down and retire. Same applies to Biden. Democrats are handing this election to Donald Trump on a silver plate.

No, he was a independent for 30+ years while he was in office. He did nothing to advance the democrat party during that time. He only started calling himself a "democrat socialist" after he decided he wanted someone else to pay for his campaign.
Also a "democrat socialist" is not a democrat, he's still holding himself up as something different and somehow better.

On an unrelated note, the DNC relies on super pacs for not only their own funding but also funding all down ballot candidates. A Bernie nomination would likely bankrupt the DNC, and leave republicans in charge of the house and senate. Not only was Bernie never going to be the democratic nominee, AOC is happily following in his footsteps burning some of the same bridges.

Bernie was never a strong candidate for President.

He appealed to the 60% of the Democratic party who are socialist... who are 24% of the voters in America.

You can win a primary that way (although obviously he's not in it to win it but to just get paid off to bow out) but you can't win a general election that way.

Bernie Sanders is a communist who has made a lot of money operating as a capitalist in a capitalist nation by decrying capitalism.

But people are sold on his idealism because Americans in general are stupid.

And here we are.

Basically you're saying that many Americans want communism.

Bernie's best quality is his ability to fold like a sheet.

In hindsight, after saying for months that Bernie didnt have a chance for the nomination or against Trump, I think he would fair better than Trump right now. He would have a fired up base over this.

But the MSM would never support Bernie. I think they would have backed Trump if Bernie somehow got the nomination. And Trump would be a war hero right now

Land of the cowardly. Home of the slaves.

Soon, if we keep going where we've been going.

Not saying he should win. Just wondering if maybe he can.

There might be enough Trump hate on the left for stuffed potato to win against Trump right now. But I'd rather see Bernie do it than Biden.

Bernie was always stronger then biden, my dog is a stronger candidate than biden.

Bernies role was to get the young voters then pass them along to the real dnc candidate. His role was never to get elected, that is why he was always ok with getting sh1t on by the dnc.

The dnc bs would be exposed immediately once an impotent bernie is elected and the corporations, elites, and lobbyiest continue doing businesses as usual. Unfortunately for bernie and the dnc they created a group of followers that care more about the message than the candidate or the party, which is dangerous to them. Hence despite his endorsement of the female obmination , his supporters didn't show up to vote for her.

Bernie will be the candidate now that everyone has had the opportunity to try living under socialism. No jobs, free health care and no freedom.

Yup, he just wants to "speak up" and rile up a bunch of retards in order to cause problems, then take a nice shiny pay off to go away.

That way he doesn't ACTUALLY have to do anything or deliver on any of his promises, he just enriches himself and disappears into the background.

He's a lazy self centered SOB.

Five people who have absolutely ZERO chance at defeating President Trump in an election:

Sanders, Hilary, Michael Obongo, Governor Cuomo and the rapist, Joe Biden

Some people sure can pick ‘em

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Sanders is authentic; he genuinely believes in his socialist narrative. So, I respect the fact that he stands for something. Although, this doesn't mean that I have any time for socialism as a political ideology. On the other hand, Biden stands for nothing at beyond what his particular financial backers tell him to do so.

Before the Coronavirus pandemic, I wasn't convinced that Sanders is the right candidate to defeat Trump. From the primaries and the twelve-month build-up, Sanders played "too nice" with Biden. Sanders didn't destroy Biden over corruption, his role as the ultimate political insider and pending trouble with the Me Too movement. Nevertheless, I feel there is one wildcard area in current events that may override Americans cultural dislike of socialism. As the Coronavirus epidemic unfolds, the need and desire for universal access to a future vaccine might tip swing voters towards his health care plan.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

That is a very interesting analysis!

So you think this might be a 5 or 6 pronged attack?. (Always wondered why AOC was in the mix. Is she even old enough to take office?)

Basically each failed candidate's role is to win votes for the party, by making promises they only have to honor if elected (and they won't be.)

And then Biden, who hasn't really made any promises, can ride their endorsements?

That actually.... a pretty good strategy. I wonder who the mastermind is? (certainly none candidates themselves are that smart. )

Do you think maybe Soros? Perhaps Hillary?

A lot of sole-proprietors in Covid-19 "lock down" states would be inclined to vote for Bernie. He single-handedly enabled them to receive un/under-employment benefits, as part of the recent $2.2 Trillion business assistance package.

Worse than Warren G Harding?

en.wikipedia.org...

Worse than "Trail of tears" Andrew Jackson?

Unfortunately Bozo the clown isn't running. He doesn't have the right stance on illegal immigration. Even a clown wouldn't take the position the dems are taking.
