Oh, I forgot the cats.

They're getting two new pet beds to replace old ones, and each one is getting a special treat to go with their food to have while we eat our turkey.

I got my husband a heavy-duty stainless steel insulated travel mug for his coffee. It cost a pretty penny, but should last forever! And he'll love it. I also lucked out and found some good quality T-shirts with vintage automobile ads that he'll love too. He hates thin cheap T-shirts, so I was pretty happy about these.

The parents and our (adult) kids all got VISA gift cards, and a gift bag with various sundry items inside.

I'm also continuing a tradition my mother started, painting ceramic tree ornaments for all my nieces and nephews. They're not "Gramma's" of course, but I just wasn't ready to let that tradition go.

I started a new tradition for my kids with painted ceramic houses for a Christmas village. They used to love playing with ours as kids. I thought they might enjoy starting their own Christmas villages.

Oh! And neighbors are getting homemade zucchini bread. Yum! I'm thinking I'll have some for breakfast now...

POLISH POTTERY!!!!

I send bakeware since it's beautiful an practical. If you've never experienced using it it's amazing! Nothing sticks, it cleans up with just hot water an your food looks crazy great when served!! Of course I shopped for pieces on sale. This stuff "can" also be crazy-expensive.

Great to hear what everyone else got!!!

Merry Christmas to you!!!

I can't believe you haven't run across this before as you are ATS's resident foodie. (smile!) This cookware is pretty indestructible as well as used for everyday, NOT just special occasions. I will swear to it's durability since my husband dropped it on many occasions onto a oak floor an it didn't even chip.

The rolling pins are 'Da Bomb since you can refrigerate them an roll out pie crusts without overheating the dough. I'm a lazy cook, but use mine to make generic brownies , pot roast, veggie casseroles. Nothing flat out stuns more at a gathering than bringing a dish in Polish Pottery. People who haven't seen it before flip right out. I had people swearing a stupid box mix potato au gratin was "the best" just cause it was served in one. ?????
Yeah right! Two 79cent box mixes????
Alrighty then!!

The absolute best part is unlike other stoneware it's not supposed to match.
The more different patterns you have the prettier the table looks. Besides getting matching pieces here in the States is almost impossible.

Hope you take the plunge, you won't regret it!
An shop around! The biggest sellers don't always have the best prices or best pattern selection. Sorry I'm a total fan-girl for the stuff.

I've been playing Keyboards and Synthesizer's since I was this tall (Johnny makes a hand motion below his knees). I've been holding off on buying anything for myself for quite awhile.

But I had to take the plunge today and buy my self a holiday gift, the ASM Hydrasynth. It is a eight-voice 'expressive' polyphonic wave-morphing synthesizer with three oscillators per voice, seemingly endless amount of modulation options, and many other unique features such as Mutators. Large ribbon controller for expressive performance control. It also has 219 selectable waveforms, CV & Gate I/O for easy integration into modular synth, and a 32-path modulation matrix making it possible to create everything from classic key sounds to evolving generative soundscapes.

Sorry.. there was no video of my head exploding when they made this..... This is going to be absolutely wonderful for 'sound designing' on projects. So doesn't matter if I'm creating a Sci-Fi sound or a NIN, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode or even a Steve Miller "Fly like an Eagle" like track, this will do it and much much more.

If you want to know the truth.... Synthesizers are my version of porn. (Scroll below to about the 17:10 mark)

I wrote almost random. Almost random because of winter solice, duh.

It's "solstice." There is nothing "almost" random about it. It was on purpose, which is the opposite of random. Duh.

I agree it is solstice.

Proof his birthday was even around that date, that is what I mean. This is the random part, them using winter solstice just makes it a bit less random.

Good job derailing this thread for stroking your ego by being picky about someones post that was meant friendly. That is the spirit

Weeelll, when electric carving knives first came out i bought her one for Christmas. She swopped it for a toaster. I bought her a heart necklace but the chain was too small so she took it to the jewellers where I bought it from to get a longer chain. Of course the jeweller (the rat) told her how much I payed for it and when she got home she gave me a rollicking for spending so much.
So since then I tell her to take as much as she wants from the bank, get herself a present from me. Before you get on at me, let me explain. A few years ago somebody tried to clone my bank card. Well being as I can't remember numbers I told the bank not to send me any more cards. My wife holds all the cards, so it's impossible to surprise her with a present as I have to ask her for the money, so she'll know.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

gave gold coins to the cute barristas at my local coffe shop and a revolver to the married manager, got my lady friends dog fixed for her for xmas, sent a gaming laptop for my friends son in ny , jewellery and boots for her daughter and sent cash to the mom hidden in an art of the deal book. got my doggo a new bed which he has basically been living in since i got it for him. got bottle of blue label for my dad who loves scotch and a green house for my mom cuz she loves plants (hard to grow in winter here with out one) i had given coins to my sisters kids (golden double eagles) but they sent them back as they "didnt want any old ppl money" which was some what hilarious as they are roughly 1400ish a coin in "young ppl money" and i gave a second revolver to a single mom who's ex has been threatening her who she has a restraining order against

so basically gave out gold guns and electronics this holiday season

Never heard of that. What's the purpose of the stones - or do they have your sense of humor?

I'm thinking perhaps some good Scotch might be in order, but the Schnapps is nice.

Maybe some Scotch later.

Ice dilutes fine whiskey's and scotches. But it's nice to have a cool drink.

The granite cubes from the freezer keep the drink cool without diluting the flavor.
