But that's the topic.
Both of you? That's bullying.
OK, I was just trying to make it non-denominational.
Getting back to the OP. Are humans trying to connect, through their brains, with the mind or has the mind always known what the brain(s) have been going through?
In other words, did the mind build the matrix for amusement and it has known all along what was happening while the brain(s) stumble around in a maze?
We've all had that nagging feeling that we've ignored when we shouldn't have. And why should our higher self want to help our lower self? It's the right thing to do, maybe?

I know what you meant but saying that the brain is the transmitter/receiver seeking contact with that collective mind made it sound like it was the source.
I'm just saying it sounded backwards.
ETA to your edit: What difference would it make to the mind if we listen like we should? Wouldn't the collective mind know that stumbling around is the point?
For example... when we know of someone in pain I believe we naturally extend our minds to experience a portion of their pain which is what initiates our feelings of empathy. I don't believe we can extend too deeply into another person's mind but we can feel the outline of their pain and distress.

That would be a brain. I'm just going by the definitions in your OP and your post about the Mind being "a field of some type that is made of all of the individual minds".
The question stands. Why would the mind do this? To what end?

But that is from the lower POV. If what you proposed is true then it wouldn't matter. The higher self would know that the lower self was at a disadvantage. Like a grown up letting a kid make mistakes because they know that is how they will learn.
But if both the kid and the grown up are the same person, why would the kid have to learn what the grown up already knows?
But we can always blame god for that.

This basketball player (in a movie) got out of the shower, made a wish, looked down in his towel, and cursed God for giving him only 3".
Is that God telling a joke?

All I know, is that if there is such a thing as a god, he must have a sick sense of humor, regardless of how he tells his jokes..
If that's all you know it may not hurt to find out a lot more. Unless
there's some reason to ignore the possibility you might be in error.
Or is everybody who sees it differently just not as observant as you are?
As far as I can tell the intricacy of not only existence but everything in
existence even down the atom assures me this life is no sick humored
joke by a long shot. The scope of it all boggles the imagination. You
might start by examining your own bias. But my advice to that is
limited.
Do it on your own away from any religion.

but didn't fix the twitch that reached into a solemn moment...
they'd rather say it went away

but still it howls it's angry growls and remains a stubborn sentiment...
I just go to youtube when it happens now.. I'm as abused there...

Yes it was. And basically YOU are the one having the big issue with
it on a public forum. I do find that much interesting and see no reason
to beg your pardon. All you had to say was something like, I'll pass.
But you chose instead to answer hysterically. Why do y'all react as tho
I insulted you? Is it insulting to suggest you know more of what you're
talking about?
