Why do people hate Jim Carrey?

When Carey did comedy, he was pretty good. When he started into using his fame to promote his insane libtardism,, I had no use for him. IDK... I liked him in the Mask but the ace Ventura ones were a little much and the Cable Guy made me never want to watch him again.

I liked him in SNL though...

So I don't hate him, didn't even know he was political nowadays or that he's an artist now.

To me he just stopped being funny because it ended up being the same shtick over and over and over and over...

So you think actors should have less political voice than you do?

Do you feel you contribute more to taxes and society than Jim Carey?

..or is it you feel acting isn't as hard, so he is overvalued in pay and it's not fair?

Not trying to start a problem, just trying to figure out this mindset.

I dislike him because I don't find him funny. I outgrew him as a kid when his Fire Marshal Bill and Xena de Milo skits on In Living Color were funny to little kid me for half a second and never really cared for any of his roles in Hollywood since. Add in the fact that he's typical Hollywood know nothing who enjoys lecturing/critiquing American culture, despite nobody asking him his opinion, and you've got someone who's fairly useless to me.

Aside from all the drugs and skeletons in his closet, there's a very simple reason why people hate Jim Carrey...

Because he decided to go all Russell Brand and preach the new age brand of love and forgiveness rooted in metaphysics.

....then completely contradicted himself by going out of his way to spew hatred towards Trump.

Dumb and dumber was horrible.

So the mask, the Trueman show (which was more about the plot then it was about his acting) and yes... he was good on SNL sometimes.

I can't stand Will Ferrell in anything.

My sense of humor is admittedly not normal though... it's pretty dark.

So we can certainly agree to disagree.

Man in the Moon was a good movie, but he was actively channeling Kaufman, whose eccentric nature played well with Carrey's overacting.

I don't hate him either. Just don't care for his comedy much. My sons liked him, when they were teens. Seemed to be his target audience.
