So you are sure it is all over? Also may I ask who is supposed to be disappointed? You seem to be making assumptions about several things while still being condescending. Do you have some sort of problem?

At the end of the day, the evil, brutal dictator Maduro put down a military coup with rubber bullets.
Just saying.
Sorry to disappoint you guys.

And what did Guaido do? He told the people to go out on the streets where he knew the Maduro loyal troops would take no prisoners. Even before he is in power he shows he doesn't give a flying # about the wellbeing of the people.
Plus he has really too close ties to the USA to not raise suspicions. He is a capitalist economy guy with close ties to the interamerican Bank for development (or similiar) that screams ideological proxy war. And to claim it's about the people is just sad. China and Russia won't take that quietly and this will make things just worse and probably go on for years.
If the majority of the people would want to get rid of Maduro they could have done it by making general strikes and just ignore their officials until they make sure he is gone. Stop paying taxes, strike, block the key industries... the fact that they didn't do that just shows it's really a 50/50 situation and in no way can the statement "the people of Venezuela want X" be made with a straight face.

Years in the making, absolutely. I completely agree with you.
This is unrelated to our conversation; however this is a recent article about coc aine supply routes from Columbia to Venezuela where planes are disposable(one use) due to how lucrative the market for coc aine is.
www.cnn.com... aine-trafficking-intl/index.html
"Colombia and Honduras (CNN)Cocaine trafficking from Venezuela to the United States is soaring, even as the country collapses. And US and other regional officials say it's Venezuela's own military and political elite who are facilitating the passage of drugs in and out of the country on hundreds of tiny, unmarked planes.
A months-long CNN investigation traced the northward route of coc aine from the farmlands where much of it is grown in Colombia, and found that the number of suspected drug flights from Venezuela has risen from about two flights per week in 2017 to nearly daily in 2018, according to one US official. This year, the same official has seen as many as five nighttime flights in the sky at once.
Planes loaded with Colombian coc aine used to depart from Venezuela's remote southern jungle regions. Now they take off from the country's more developed northwest region to reduce their flying time, US and regional officials also said.
Officials involved in combating the deadly trade describe a ridiculously profitable courier system for the Venezuelan government. "Drug smugglers are more and more exploiting the complicity of Venezuelan authorities, and more recently the vacuum of power," said one US official. Every shipment of coc aine from South America is so lucrative that the planes flown by traffickers are cheap in comparison; most are used only once and then discarded or set on fire upon arrival."

Wrong, that's another lie form Maduro. He does not have the support, or the respect from most of the Venezuelan forces. It was so bad that Maduro had a flight ready to escape to Havana, Cuba.

I am quoting myself like a goofball because it seems the CNN link is now not available. Here is another that relays the same information:
