BTW, neither the Trump administration, nor I chose Guido... The Venezuelan people did...

Guaidó was chosen by the people only to be part of the National Assembly. The National Assembly chose him as National Assembly president, position that made him automatically interim president when the National Assembly declared that Venezuela had no president.

Here is the problem with that. We know, according to Rep. Diaz-Balart, that the Russians have put nuclear missiles in Venezuela. We know that the dictatorial socialist regime of Maduro, and Chavez before him, have deals with the Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians, and other terrorist groups such as Hezbollah which have a presence in Venezuela. All of these "nations" and terrorist groups are not our friends. I don't want a war with Venezuela, but if things don't change we might have to.

That's a pretty long jump you took from "CIA is probably involved" to "I support killer dictatorships"...

I'm not a leftist and definitely not a Maduro supporter. I just thinks this situation is being played by Intel agencies to take him down.

Wait...what in the world are you talking about?...

I didn't write that I, nor the POTUS support killer dictatorships...

It is what Presidents, or Prime Ministers of other nations do when they want to have deals with other nations.
But is POTUS Trump being lenient to Maduro's dictatorial regime, or did he and his administration assert that Guido is Venezuela's true President?

Trump supports Guaido, as do most nations (except for Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea...)

Ya, that's what I wrote.

We know through financial dealings the Trump admin is vested in interest with Venezuela as are the other actors you listed.

We've known Venezuela is leveraged through debt to China and Russia for years. It is what it is. They have a spher of influence for countries in our proximity as we do vise versa.

Really? is that why POTUS Trump is supporting Guaidó instead of Maduro?... POTUS Trump has even stated "all options are on the table" when it concerns the situation in Venezuela. That means even using our military against Venezuela is an option... Does that sound like "someone who has been bought by Maduro"?...

I never shifted the discussion as Trump being bought by the incumbent.

I just look for the truth. Generally, I'm disappointed in life by my venture. But it is what it is.

There is always two sides to an issue and US media pretty much only shows one side. I came across this video today with a talk from a reporter that is there right now. At about 14 minutes in the guy talks about both sides pretty well.

You actually did do that. But in fact who has a "vested interest in Venezuela" are other groups...

You certainly did not do that. You implied "Trump has monetary vested interests in Venezuela," which sorry to say is not true...

And that dude in your video is wrong... He tried, like many leftists, to claim the situation in Venezuela is because of the sanctions... But the sanctions were against certain individuals and their company and not on the Venezuelan people... Not to mention the FACT that those sanctions were put in place by Obama... But since Trump is POTUS, of course you have to side with another ignorant leftist in a video who claims the problems of Venezuela are because of U.S. sanctions...

The problems of Venezuela are because of SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM... You can say it Grimpachi... Go ahead and try, then perhaps you will grasp the truth...

Is that why the most prolific political opponent to Maduro, Leopoldo Lopez, was allowed to escape by Venezuelan military officials and the Venezuelan police?... He was under house arrest by orders of Maduro with armed guards at his house, and there were rumors Maduro wanted to kill him like Maduro(and Chavez before him) has ordered the murder of thousands of unarmed protesters.

BTW, I just watched an interview of the Venezuelan ambassador to the U.S. and he also said the majority of the Venezuelan army, including officers, are ready for a change in regime. They do not support Maduro.

That is a very ignorant statement. Do you really claim the sanctions are not hurting the people of Venezuela or are you playing at semantics?

Not to mention the FACT that those sanctions were put in place by Obama...

No need to mention it because the reporter already said the same.

The ignorant statement is to claim the woes of Venezuela are because of the sanctions when the woes of Venezuela are because of socialism/communism... But of course you wouldn't admit to it...

I have already mentioned here that ATS member "projectvxn" stated in another thread, and I quote:

VZ sanctions were against party individuals, government officials, and government accounts. It also ended their potential ICO from fleecing the alt-coin market to cover up for their failed monetary policy.

There are NO sanctions against the Venezuelan people.

Yes there is a need to mention it... Just like there is a need to mention that Venezuelans were already going hungry, and protesters were being murdered by the thousands each year by orders of Maduro, and Chavez before him, BEFORE Obama put the sanctions in place...

But of course a socialist is not capable of admitting where the fault truly lies...

Whatever, if you are going to claim the sanctions don't hurt the people and contribute to the starvation then there is no reason to continue.

Your level of dishonesty and venomous replies are simply not worth my time.

Here are some facts to "remind" some people.

Obama sanctions 7 government officials in Venezuela

And to remind certain individuals of facts despite claims that: "We know through financial dealings the Trump admin is vested in interest with Venezuela..."

Updated on: August 25, 2017 / 2:07 PM / CBS/AP

CARACAS, Venezuela -- The Trump administration on Friday slapped sweeping financial sanctions on Venezuela, barring banks from any new financial deals with the government or state-run oil giant PDVSA.

The sanctions Mr. Trump signed by executive order are bound to dramatically escalate tensions between Venezuela and the U.S. and exacerbate the country's economic crisis.

"These measures are carefully calibrated to deny the Maduro dictatorship a critical source of financing to maintain its illegitimate rule, protect the United States financial system from complicity in Venezuela's corruption and in the impoverishment of the Venezuelan people, and allow for humanitarian assistance," the White House said in a statement.

It is not a claim, like the fake claims you are making...

Obama put sanctions against CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS in Venezuela in 2015 if I remember correctly. Actually, I was wrong about the date when sanctions started, but here is a list of the sanctions and whom were being sanctioned.

But things like the following were occurring already in Venezuela BEFORE Obama put the sanctions in place...

From 2010...

By Tom Blumer | June 22, 2010 12:15 PM EDT

Late last year, a story carried by the wire service AFP reported on an announcement by Venezuela's Hugo Chavez that his government would launch "a new chain of government-run, cut-rate retail stores that will sell everything from food to cars to clothing." Chavez reportedly said that these "discount socialist stores" would show people "what a real market is all about, not those speculative, money-grubbing markets, but a market for the people."

This initiative was on top of Chavez's creation of Mercal (link is to the Venezuelan home page, complete with "The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela" logo), a state-run network of grocery stores, seven years ago.

How is this great leap forward into state control working out? A June 18 Reuters dispatch carried at CNBC reports that the government can't even keep its food fresh. But that's okay. The wire service takes a while to get there, and even then a bit of interpretation is necessary, but eventually we learn that the Chavez "solution" to that thorny problem is to seize replacement goods from private merchants:

Revolutionary Rot, But News It's Not: AP Ignores Venezuela's 'Battle for Food'

March 11, 2010, 9:00 AM MST

Caracas - It's 10 a.m., and tempers are already flaring at the Cada supermarket in Caracas' San Bernardino neighborhood. The store has just taken delivery of two pallets of 4- and 11-pound sacks of sugar. With dozens of shoppers swarming around him, Rigoberto Fernández tries to pass out the bags one by one. The clerk hands a smaller one to a gray-haired woman, but she flings it back. "How dare you tell me I can't have one of the larger bags?" she screams. The sack splits open, spilling sugar everywhere.

A Food Fight for Hugo Chavez

Virginia Lopez in Caracas

Thu 26 Sep 2013 10.20 EDT

It's the rainy season in Venezuela and Pedro Rodríguez has had to battle upturned manhole lids, flooded avenues and infernal traffic jams in his quest for sugar, oil and milk in Caracas.

His daily battle to find food is not new, but it's getting worse. "There is something about finally having enough to make ends meet and being unable to buy what I need because it's gone missing. It leaves me feeling indignant," says Rodríguez, a 55-year-old removal man who makes an average of £500 a month. "I haven't lost hope that things will get better, but sometimes the end seems nowhere in sight."

Venezuela food shortages: 'No one can explain why a rich country has no food'

Chavez and Maduro have been forcing "price controls" to the supermarkets they took control over... If a can of tuna's cost was 30 cents to produce, Chavez Maduro wanted to sell them at 20-25 cents... "SOCIALIST price controls" is what has caused the lack of food and necessary items in Venezuela... The murders of thousands of protesters has been caused, and is being caused because of socialism/communism...

Not to mention who is being dishonest is not me...

...
They also stressed that the sanctions were not against the country of Venezuela but only against individuals deemed responsible for human rights or other violations.

Venezuela will have to face the U.S. Military If Maduro does not stop his dictatorial ways.Sadly I cannot see no other way out for this lunatic..Now He is saying he wants to fix his mistakes...This is usually the sign of a madman turning into socialism to communism letting power go to his head.Don’t you guys understand what is going on here....This is another strategic battle for control over Whether or not Russia and China control this region..Which means the U.S.controls Cuba with another possible war..This also is about oil.....The U.S.had this deck in their hand long ago and was thinking about attacking Venezuela for years.....This is the games the 3 super powers play..NATO will be right along with the U.S.
