Pence going to Colombia to demand Maduro step down

Vice President Pence will travel to Colombia on Monday to demand Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro step down and allow U.S.-recognized interim President Juan Guaidó take power. Pence will be in Colombia to “voice the United States’s unwavering support for interim President Juan Guaidó and highlight the Venezuelan people’s fight for democracy over dictatorship,” the vice president’s office said in a statement.

After the embarrassing warsaw summit, now Pence is going to Colombia to demand Maduro step down. Rather then staying in America to focus on border issues or healthcare.

It will be one of the few times the masses and the media get behind the admin on an issue.

The irony and hypocrisy is just sad as there are so many countries worse off than Venezuela, some because of us and our agenda.

I still think it's the people of Venezuela who have to force him out of office if they want him gone. Given the US Track record of meddling in South America... Stay out of it, would be my advice.

The sheeple of Venezuela and many other South American countries can't do jack because the corruption installed within all the branches of the government is absurd. I live in Brazil and I'm well aware of that.

Venezuelans can't do anything expect die for their democracy if they want to. Because Maduro won't step down and the military is behind him.

So maybe America is really after Venezuela's oil and that's it. Maybe it's a manufactured crysis.

Or maybe the current administration is actually looking out for the Venezuelan people?

Who knows. I'm still to be convinced in this issue.

I think that would still be wrong on several levels and will not fix problems.

If you look into the two you may find that both of them are socialist atbest.

The real problems there can only be fixed by the usa removing sanctions and letting them run their own country.

You know more about Venezuela than I do. If you feel that Maduro will do a good job after sanctions are removed, maybe the U.S. will see it your way eventually.

It is not that i think that but more thati feel our intentions and reasons do not include the well being of the people there.

As another person just pointed out look no further than Yeman for proof that wide spread starvation does not motivate our government to act.
