Beginning of Summer. 8 days in and we have clear blue skies and 29c ... perfect !

Looking forward to Monday at around ten Am,
I will get up highish on the foreshore, to witness the arrival of the first two F35A fighters do a fly by with Super Hornets as escort.

The sound will be awesome as well as witnessing the first two of our future strike force fighters and give them a wave !

So you're having lovely weather while we have blizzards to look forward to. I can't imagine having Christmas with warm weather. Does Santa use water skis instead of a sled?

Don't know what the hell this bug I caught is, or where I caught it, but it can go back where ever it came from, pronto.

According to hubby, I slept straight through Thursday other than him waking me every few hours to drink water or take cold meds. No fever or anything, just utterly unable to wake up beyond a stupor, with nasal congestion, a dry cough, muscle aches, and oscillating between being too hot and too cold.

I woke up yesterday morning (Friday) feeling like I'd been run over by a Mack truck. I guess you could say it was more or less a state of "What the hell happened?" sickie confusion, lol.

Nasal congestion is gone today, so are the aches & hot/cold swings, but I've still got the dry cough and a sore throat that comes and goes. Older kid is getting the same thing, so the next few days should be real fun /sarc

I wouldn't worry too much. Nature has a way of balancing things out.

These reindeer have been around for thousands of years, after all. In that northern part of Norway, there are places with snow on the ground 8 or 9 months of the year. In those months, the "normal" colored reindeer would be at greater risk. Also, as there are so many more of them, the very rare white ones actually have a good chance of going unnoticed.

That's Ian Anderson. He lives on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Beautiful, magical place. I was there many years ago.

I saw Jethro Tull (Anderson's band) live in around 1974 or 75. Excellent live band. As for Ian, he used to be a very heavy smoker but as far as I know he's quit them since then. Still smokes a tobacco pipe, though.

You can read an interview with him (from 2016) on THIS PAGE on Loudersound dot com. He mentions his cig-smoking there.

I always assumed any kind of blowing instrument player would never smoke. Even more respect to the man jumping around at his age. I noticed what smoking did to my lungs after a year or two. Here I am 36 years later still doing it. I did think of pipes or cigars due to not inhaling but I'm not so sure it would be my thing.

In the paper yesterday they said that a pub was for sale on one of the Scottish islands. (I think Stornoway.) There are 60 people on the island. Sounded idyllic and something I should be able to manage alone. I can dream...

Light, may all your dreams come true and you get your pub in Scotland. Gordi will bring all his friends and they can play and sing for the pub too. The rest of us will arrive by the help of our dragon friends.

Owls are a particular favorite of mine. We raised an orphaned owl when I was a kid. They are very smart - and playful

Raising that owl must have been such an amazing experience! My Husband rescued an owl when he was a kid.

He or she did not say anything, but kept rubbing its head against the side of my face lovingly. I felt so much love coming from the beautiful bird. I sensed peace, love and contentment. I was worried that it must be someone's pet to be that docile and I wanted to find the owner as I know how heart broken I would be if it were mine.

I know in real life that it should be free, but there are many creatures that for whatever reason cannot make it in the wild. Some have injuries that can't be fixed or whatever.

Oh there are soooo many wonderful flavors available. I'd have to write a book to list them all.

Wish my friend wasn't so slow or I'd be out having lunch by now. LOL
I don't usually have breakfast, but had toast so I could take my pills.

Some brands are much better than others. There is one that has whole pistachios in it! YUM!
