Five men - two aged 49 and the others aged 19, 46 and 55 - were arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after handing themselves in. A video shared on social media shows a cardboard model of the tower being set alight by a laughing crowd.

BBC News

Offensive? Yes
Bad taste? Defiantly!
A crime? # NO! But the tyrannical UK government says it is!

This sickens me. Jokes should NOT be policed or regulated!

My rights do NOT end when someones feeling beguin!

I love dark humor! It is my coping mechanism to deal with all the bad # that happens in the world.
Not everyone's humor is the same and I don't expect everyone to find what I find funny, funny. But just because you don't find a joke funny or think its offensive should not make it a crime!

Being a Twat should not be a crime!

The UK government should arrest itself because they are an offensive joke.

Arrested but, I believe, not yet charged. Here, have some actual intelligent discussion of the position here in the UK which I put out there as an antidote to all the hysterical and uninformed nonsense about the state of freedom of speech here in the UK:

BBC: When Does Causing Offence Become a Crime?

Putting little brown people in the windows - nice. My sides! In my book I wish being a Twat in some cases should be a crime and these people are massive Twats.

These are some pretty F#d up people in the video.

Criminal? I don't know.

But I would love to see some of the families of people lost in the tower beat the living sh!t out of the people in the video.

WTF would posses them to make something like this?

They are free to do as they please at their bonfire party but when someone uploads it to social media it becomes a public display of stupidity and they deserve what they get.

This wasn't humour.

Sorry but no.

You don't get to decide what humor is. Nor should anyone be arrested over a video.
If your offended just don't watch the video....simple.

Arrests and criminal actions should only be for REAL crimes. Theft, fraud, rape, assault, murder ect not for being a twat.

Exactly.

Feeling should not justify criminal actions.

If you don't have the right to offend you don't have the right to think or speak. How is everyone not opposing this? Are we little more than the fancy lapdogs of ruling class anymore?

That being said, how in the hell did two 49 year olds, a 46 and 55 year old think this was a good idea? I saw a few blurbs about this yesterday on the news wire and assumed it was just kids being dumb kids. That's massively disappointing that adults did this stupid, insensitive act.

Bad lapdogs! Go to your corner!! No treats for you!!!

Not a surprise much like the guy that ended up in hot water for making a video of his significant other’s pug that he trained and filmed to look like a nazi, me thinks the days of Montey Python esque gallows humor being okay in the isles.

Mocking the death of 72 people in a horrific fire is not humour , it's sick and an act likely based in racism , if you think that's acceptable in a civilised society then that's your issue.

So its fine for Hollywood to do it, spend 100s of millions on it , market it to the whole world , put it in theaters and make people pay to see it.

But some drunk idiots at a party do something racist its a crime?
