I gotta say. This is pure insanity. Someone who would willingly vote for a serial killer (basically removing any doubts the man is a sociopath) over crossing the aisle to vote Democrat. Even IF the sensationalism in the OP is true, this is some next level amounts of partisanism.

I was surprised myself when I heard that he was neck-and-neck with Cruz last month. I used to live in Fort Sill, OK which is 45 minutes drive from Wichita Falls. I've met plenty of Texans in my day. Though I understand that Houston is growing ever more liberal as the Hispanic population grows.

There are 2 Texas: urban and rural. Mostly, once you are outside of the big cities on the I35 corridor is gets very conservative. I live an hour north of Austin, and its definitely MAGA country here. Although there are Austin folk who find themselves living out this way (usually driving a Prius with a BETO bumpersticker).
Austin and Houston are unlike Texas almost entirely. I avoid both like the plague.

I suspect enough illegal aliens will be moved in from California to Austin and Houston in time for the 202 elections. There will already be precise calculations on how many more are needed to flip the state, so the votes of the rural people really won't matter much.
