It's funny how people are terrified of this concept of "globalism". Yet we are all globalists in some way. We transitioned into globalism at the turn of the 20th century and have been living in a globalist world for over 100 years now. Not a single person on this planet can say they lived in a time of pre-globalism, and this is especially true of the 1st World.

After a few speed bumps in the way of world wars, things haven't been better. You can't point to a time in history where the world has been this prosperous and this free of violence. Yes economic destitution still exists and wars are still fought, but nothing on the scale it used to.

But besides matters that are beyond the common man, you and I are also globalists. Ever take a trip overseas? Do you think that would be possible if every country was nationalist and super restrictive on tourism? Don't like that example? Well just about everything you consume on a daily basis has some part of its manufacturing process coming from globalism. Even the precious "Made in America" label that US nationalists worship really only means "Assembled in America". The raw materials usually come from elsewhere, and if they don't the small parts of the device definitely were made elsewhere.

Globalism doesn't necessarily mean an end to borders, because we live in a reality at this very moment of installed globalism and national borders are very much still a thing throughout the world. I know most of you anti-globalists will refuse to listen to me here, but this should be said anyways.

Why was border security much more effective before ICE siphoned off resources and funding from US Customs and Border Protection?

I would be very curious to hear from right wingers why they believe the borders have become more secure since the advent of ICE supplanting other border controls that were sufficiently effective for the first 224 years of US Sovereignty vs the last 16 years?

Illegal immigration actually increased after the creation of ICE in 2002 and it began leeching responsibilities and funding from US Border Control.

Yep. I enjoy the fact that our country has a social safety net. It helped my parents and myself not die of starvation while the Great Recession was going on and we were all out of work or making small salaries.

Well the Constitution DOES have the Tax and Spending Clause, so taxes are 100% legal. I'm not sure what you are whining about though. No one likes to play taxes, it's just our national duty to do it.

No I won't. I used the Socialist policy called the 9/11 GI Bill to pay for college. I thank it every day for allowing me to get a college education without sending me into a lifetime of unpayable debt.

Where did I call you off topic? All I said is that if you use your political beliefs to justify taking up arms against other Americans then you will be called a traitor. If you are as old as you claim to be then you should remember that our country became what it is because of compromise not because of stubborn partisanism.
