Gotta ask, which freedom is that?

Our relations, as a nation, with Iran have been, shall we say, rocky for the better part of 40 years...most of my life.

I've yet to see any damage to my "freedom" done by Iran...by my own countrymen, yes, but Iran...nope.

Do point some out to me, please.

That sounds remarkably like a threat, doesn't it?

Revolutionary guard = Praetorian guard? We decide, you deal with it.

but news are now coming out that US has plans for an attack on nuclear sites, which was the whole reason behind this thread. Iran will make her way out of sanctions but an attack on Iranian soil will be responded by a military fashion and thus an all-out war. thats very concerning, don't you agree?

Iran is on a suicide path by encircling Israel with its proxies. All Iran has to do is pull back support for Hamas and Hezbollah while at the same time agree to knock nuke development on the head. If it doesn't do ths then expect total Iraqification to follow very soon Haman with weaponry you haven't even dreamed about.

To put it very bluntly there are circles within Washington that care very very much for that tiny patch of land called Israel and will see to it that any threat to it is extinguished one way or another. I have no particular care either way what happens anywhere and wish all peoples safety and peace.............................. But if those people in power over in Iran don't get the simple fact that go against Israel you go against the other 50% of world Jewry and that resides in the USA and that wields a power to destroy any state it wishes. I just said it like it is

Sorry, but I don't get it, and this after explaining the exact same thing to somebody else in this thread: are you guys crack babies or something? Can you not tell when somebody, is obviously, painfully obviously, being facetious? I already answered this. Find that post in this thread, or seek a remedial reading class. For Pete's sake.

That's how I read it....who are the "weak managers"? I wonder what the exact Farsi phrase is for that? Bet it's worse sounding.

The Leader of the Quds Force might run for office in Iran. If that happens, things go into uncharted waters fast.

Please forgive me. Now I'm off to my remedial reading class.

Well, that you put it this way, I'm feeling generous and all is forgiven. But just this once, and I expect periodic reading progress reports. For future reference, I do prefer the following verbiage, before considering the penitent, "Please forgive me. I'm begging you!"

We had 2 separate threads regarding this issue recently, which i just came across:

thread 1 and thread 2

In both of those threads what i saw really amazed me: several people throwing tantrums and chest bumping each other while some few tried reasoning.

This amazed you? What rock have you been hiding under since the beginning of time that you didn't realize this is par for the course as far as humanity goes? Particularly that sliver of humanity that frequents this site?

Sorry but it would be cheaper just to do joint economic development. There are types of nuclear reactors that can use waste as fuel, we should set up a NATO/Shanghai Cooperation Organization deal to joint develop either CANDU or this sort of molten salt reactor technology (see link,) so that Iran cannot make fissile material for nuclear weapons, that way the war pigs are satisfied.

Sorry but Iran could whoop us pretty good. The Art of War should be required reading for Congress, as well as the I Ching and the Dao te Ching. Remember, they downed our drone using ECM warfare.

Can we please not debate who has the biggest can of whoop-ass?

Let's not even go there. The entire world would suffer, and we need diplomacy to work things out.

Bwahahahaha. You've been listening to your media too much. Iraq would be a school yards exercise compared to attacking Iran.

All the Arab Speing just promoted unions and democratic socialism. Ever wonder why ISIS flourished u see past admin but got their butts kicked in Iraq under the new POTUS? Do you support ISIS? It is said that it was creation of a 3 letter agency. Choose your side carefully. I wonder see about this considering the entire Deep State hates Yrump with a passion.

Iran was once out 'sweetheart'...but remember Iran 'students' invaded the US Embassy...remember 444 days? Speaking of students, how many college students had training to operate crypto machines? No, the Ayatollah and his minions did it with Soviet assistance.
And while we are talking about the Ayatollah, everyone reading this should red his 'Little Green Book' to get an idea of radical Iranian religious and political beliefs.
After you read the Little Green Book, if you can stomach it, you will have a much better insight on this problem. Not all Iranians subscribe to this idiotic lifestyle, but the ones in charge do...and 'human10' it seems.

This is like blowing smoke, though. The elected government of Mossadegh was overthrown by a CIA coup that put the Shah in power, which maybe you'd call American assistance? You think? This is where Iran's hate affair with the U.S. began. While Khomeini was evil, the Shah was also a very brutal dictatorship. A person could vanish for saying they didn't like the Shah. He ran his Savak secret police, with America's blessing, that was as damned evil as Stalin's Cheka. So, the question is where your moral high ground comes from, and why this notion that Russia, doing the sorts of things America does, all the time, is the boogeyman?

What's your patriotism may be somebody else's Ugly American, because you're steeped in ridiculous hypocrisy, "Do as I say, not as I do." Hyprocrites aren't going to win a Good Housekeeping Seal anytime soon, nor be taken seriously, that is, all that smoke blowing.

By the way, if you think the Shah was a sweetheart, that must be psycho luv. You need to get some whips and chains and get a room.

You have a very warped view of history and seem to leave out alot of details. First the only reason the shah was supported was because they wanted a radar installation in Iran. The Shah overthrow was started by communists controlled by the soviet Union. The shah was never truly allied with the west as he was the one who appointed Mossadegh as prime minister. What got them both in trouble was the idea if nationalizing British oil industry in Iran.

The British government spent huge sums if money trying to turn Iran into a saudi arabia. They brought in drilling experts equipment set up training and built infrastructure such as roads, schools, power plants etc.

This is why they British didn't like the idea of losing all their stuff by having the shahs government take over the oil industry. Shah knew this is exactly what he wanted and had a scape goat to pin it on in Mossadegh. This move effectively looses the shah most of his good will with the west. And one of the reasons his regime falls to communists

OK let me correct you on that one dear
ISIS was not handed their butts over by US or their allies, ISIS was F-ed by IraQ-Syria and IraN. OK? it was us who sacrificed our soldiers to fight ISIS and it was us who took back a whole country- named Syria- from total ISIS control. thats why Syria is now back to GOVERNMENT control (in case you missed it, thats bashar al-assad who US Govt hates) and not anyone else.
bombing campaign from USA and Russia -which helped a great deal BTW- can't change that fact. you're not the savior in this scenario dear.

Whats Arab soeibg? you mean Arab Spring? what could Obama have done to prevent Arab Spring? are you kidding? Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Why should have Arab spring been stopped? what does that have anything to do with US?
