I'm happy to see long time GOP conservatives coming to their senses. In a column my Max Boot in the Washington post today (7/4/18), I find this a brilliant lead:

“Should I stay or should I go now?”

That question, posed by the eminent political philosophers known as the Clash, is one that confronts any Republican with a glimmer of conscience.

You used to belong to a conservative party with a white-nationalist fringe. Now it’s a white-nationalist party with a conservative fringe. If you’re part of that fringe, what should you do?

...

The current GOP still has a few resemblances to the party of old — it still cuts taxes and supports conservative judges.

But a vote for the GOP in November is also a vote for egregious obstruction of justice, rampant conflicts of interest, the demonization of minorities, the debasement of political discourse, the alienation of America’s allies, the end of free trade and the appeasement of dictators.

and concludes:

That is why I join Will and other principled conservatives, both current and former Republicans, in rooting for a Democratic takeover of both houses in November. Like postwar Germany and Japan, the Republican Party must be destroyed before it can be rebuilt.

Sounds like the typical stuff we've been hearing for a while now. The left has problems and they blame the right like they're the ones with the problem.

I've hardly seen anyone on the Trump team with regrets. On the contrary, a lot of fence sitters are starting to say Trump wasn't such a bad choice after all.

IF you dont care what someone believes then how are you helping the country? If you dont care then why do you care some people are racists? You SHOULD care what other people believe, thats how there is discourse and understanding.

I get it though that might be too far above your head to comprehend

If you didnt care how people felt, then why did you try and post propaganda just to rile people up? Disingenuous and childish in my opinion, i mean, if you really didnt care what people thought.

I thought the same thing after reading this thread. This projecting from the left has been a barometer to measure their own parties faults for quite some time now. Needless to say, I am not surprised at all that the democratic party is falling apart, and I dont understand why they think suburban and rural retards who support trump would buy this crap.

So basically a bunch of people who have been part of the problem in this country for a while finally start talking about doing what we've only been saying they should do for a while -- you know, be honest about what they really believe and fly their true allegiances.

I get that they don't like the guy that's at the head of the state this time around, and that they are dismayed that the electorate installed someone unwashed over Jeb!, their chosen and anointed candidate who had the pedigree and the background and, and, and, everything but actual charisma and ability and stuff, but every cycle they tell us to simply hold our noses and vote for the candidate they've been a part of choosing and we lose.

When the shoe is on the other foot, only this time we've won ... they get pissy and threaten to take their balls home ... hmmm, OK, maybe they're taking their dolls home because I'm not sure they have balls to take home.

Your 'What aboutism" fallacy' has noting to do with the subject of this thread. The subject is the Republican party.

Diverting to the Democrat Party is the response of no valid argument.

He has written for nothing but leftist organizations, and reading throug his articles, looks more like a plant to feign a conservative viewpoint than anything else. Even his articles contradict conservative values.

I call shenanigans.

Which verifiable facts are you refering to??

Sounds like a guy that is suffering from TDS

Am I suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome? Time for a self audit by Max Boot

In a separate article he writes, he discusses his hatred for Trump.

What else should we expect from a man unable to mentally handle Trump being the president??

Correct. WaPo "journalists" have almost exactly ZERO credibility among Republicans.
