It seems like how Al Qaeda / the CIA inundate the place with herion ought to be part of the discussion. Not to rock the boat (okay maybe to rock the boat).

Rule through fear, awesome.

Applaud it all you want, you are just as sick as him for wanting people to die because they are addicts.

Wrong
If you are an addict and you steal you are a criminal
If you are an addict and you sell to maintain your habit you are a criminal
If you are an addict and assault or rape somebody you are a criminal
I am advocating execution of criminals, not addicts.

Crystal Meth was a bigger problem than heroin when I was there. Al Queda is making meth now?

Now may be a good time to just kinda stop talking. You are in no way helping your case. Really only making it worse.

Of course, it is not great! Unfortunately, it was not resolved sooner and options for correction have been hindered. Ignored issues don't ever magically go away. They always worsen and harm even more innocents.

I think you need to read up on your crime and punishment.

Every major empire or super power in the world tried to take care of crime through punishment instead of rehabilitation. Thing was, it didn't work.
Why is the Philippines any different?

In your eyes perhaps. I'm of the belief that all serious crimes should have 1 punishment.

ATS starred this bs?!

We are the worst kind of conspiracy theorists these days. "War on drugs" didn't used to gain any moral traction here.

To quote our dear leader, "SAD!!!"

Getting high is a "serious crime"?!

Because it's not a major empire. Most of the people stand behind Duterte on this.

I know all too well how it works- believe me

As do I, which is why I know the threat of death is not an effective deterrent. An addict only cares about their next fix, nothing else matters, not even death.

Ya, and you can't kill all your problems.

This, if it is done, is going to go badly..hell, there are innocent people being killed now.

So a more manageable population is exempt? No, this is a man on a high for power to be honest.
I have several Filipino friends who's fathers knew what was coming and fled, just like I have a few Iraqi friends who knew what was up before the US invaded for the second time.

The country is in shambles, not because of drugs, but lack of proper leadership. I can think of another nation just like it with far more of a population to be honest.

This is not aimed at the dealers it is aimed at the addicts. The dealers are not stealing to get more drugs right?

Moronic stupid dictator BS.

Which means it's not a great loss if they are executed. Just the kind of people I want around me. They don't care about anything or anyone as long as they can get high. Pathetic.

So like going to work at a taco shop? Dude you really need to reevaluate the way you look at actual crimes.
