People are not scrambling to get to scandinavian countries. Those countries are shipping them in as low-skilled laborers to fund their welfare state because of lowered reproduction rates from the native population.

Funny, and here I thought it was because they had more stringent immigration guidelines than we do.

The path of lesser resistance is why we end up with more, not because Europe is less appealing overall. It's a tad easier to get a foot in the American door, I'll admit that much.

The basic assumption upon which this thread is based is flawed and invalid. There is nothing inherent to the socialistic economic model that results in theft from the population and concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a very few.

This can be shown by the multiple countries existing today that use the socialistic economic model where the population is free, affluent and happy.

The economic or political model used in a country has far less to do with the success of that country than does the quality of the people implementing said economic or political model.

This can be shown by examining the current situation in the US: more and more wealth and power is being stolen from the population in general, and concentrated in the hands of a very few. Thus, the very things that were used as examples of the horrors of socialism are in fact in evidence in this (so called) representative republic.

Which demonstrates that, while some economic and political models may be more susceptible to abuse than others, the dominant factor is the quality of the implementors, NOT on the model being implemented.

They change the definitions of things. So people will inadvertently provide proof of some nafarious plan. When really they are talking both talking about 2 totally and fundamentally different things.

“Socialism” is a perfect example:.

The dictionary definition of socialism is “any time taxes are taken from some or all to the benefit of some or all.


But the Fox News crowd has convinced them that socialism means disarming the public and confiscating all the money and property for the state... or something else ridiculous..


I have a theory that the horrible logic behind the “pro second amendment movement”’s talking points are SPECIFICALLY meant to illicit a debate.

Conservatives say “ guns don’t kill people people kill people”.

Then when someone refutes the ridiculousness of that argument’s logic. It gets twisted into some fictional push for a ban and confiscation..

Which creates a “bad guy” who doesn’t really exist..
