This move puts Democrat candidates into a comfort zone.

Perfect "corral" tactic 😎

I truly admire your ability to find comfort in anything that happens. You must be one of the happiest people in the world. I meant zero sarcasm in this. You get a star sir!

So... assuming this close acquaintance/lawyer of Trumps DID have some incriminating files in his office... are we to believe that he wouldn't have shredded these a LONG TIME AGO?

I mean you'd think that everyone in Trumps camp is on high alert for this kind of stuff. You're telling me Trumps first instruction after sketchy activity wasn't to ERASE ALL EVIDENCE of sketchy activity?

Maybe I'm confused about record keeping but I'm having a hard time believing that these guys would cover their tracks so poorly.

In my opinion, this is only news because Cohen used to be Trump’s lawyer. If it turns out like everything else related to Mueller’s investigation, it won’t have anything to do with Trump or his campaign. Just MSM using every bit of negative ties to Trump as they can because the midterms are right around the corner. The Dems and liberal media know the midterms could swing to the right and are worried. I’d hope the warrant was obtained ethically unlike that FISA warrant, but other than that we will just have to wait for the facts.

Possibly however people also need to keep in mind that just because a lawyer does not work for a firm anymore or no longer represents a certain client attorney client privilege remains intact. It does not void it from either party and no judge in their right mind would allow that type of info to be introduced into criminal proceedings.

I still think they are just trying to get as much damaging info against Trump and his supporters as they can. I am sure we will see info collected somehow make its way to the media in 2020.

Then that sounds like Illegally spending Campaign Funds to pay off porn stars, and lying about in Federal Filings.

And just how do you know that ?

Wasn't that the entire point of Muellers raid?

How about stop putting the cart before the horse.

It is a talking point on CNN and MSNBC.

On the bright side.

Trump/Second special prosecutor has the green light to seize the records of Perkins Coe.

All things being equal.

Yup.. It is exactly what the Clinton campaign did when they lied in their FEC forms about retaining Perkins Coie law firm and FusionGPS.

The good news is the FEC has an open investigation into that issue, and several others for Clinton.

Of course the left likes using the excuse of "leave Hillary alone. she lost the election".

and that right there is my main concern. Its like the stupid nuclear option they talk about in the Senate. You take those steps now for immediate gain but no one bothers to look down the road and think someday my opponents will be in office and in control and could do the very same thing to me. The left got a nasty kick in the mouth when Trump won because he inherited all the authority that was granted to Obama. All of a sudden the left panics and they want to restrict his ability to use those powers.

and yet here we are with neither side learning a damn thing.

It is a very dangerous precedent and one that should never be set.

Also if I am reading into this correctly, this wasnt Mueller's work per se. Mueller referred this case to Rod Rosenstein, who took it out of Mueller's hands and into the Southern District Court of New York, who is now handling this case. Which would make this an investigation seperate from Mueller.

Isn't the AG of NY an anti Trumper?

I think Rod might be fired next with mueller and sessions too.

Trump reacts to Fbi raid

US President Donald Trump says the FBI's raid on the offices of his personal lawyer was a "disgrace" and an "attack on our country".

"I have this witch hunt constantly going on," he told White House reporters.

This wasn't Mueller's raid. Mueller's team turned up *something* unrelated to Mueller's investigation and referred it to the US Attorney's office. Whatever this *something* was, it was enough that the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York determined it was worth pursuing and it was substantial enough that a judge signed off on the warrant.

BTW, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York is Geoffrey Berman who was appointed by Trump. This was after a personal interview — something presidents don't typically do. The job was previously held by Preet Bharara.

The FBI raided attorney Cohen’s office today, seizing documents related to payments made to Stormy Daniels.

Related to, but not necessarily limited to, those particular documents.

The following is, admittedly, pure speculation. But I didn’t dig this rabbit hole, I just fell down it.

In addition to her other claims, Daniels said that before she signed that NDA and was paid $130K, she was threatened “to leave Trump alone” while with her daughter in a parking lot.

She also claimed in her 60 Minutes interview that she could recognize the man that threatened her.

Now I just read that her attorney has engaged a forensic sketch artist and intends to offer a reward for information leading to the identity of this man.

Speculation: Given the state of current facial recognition software, is it possible that this alleged assailant has already been identified? That he is a person of interest to law enforcement and/or the intelligence services?

Another question: This mysterious stranger somehow knew of Daniels involvement before Cohen’s offer.

Who informed him?

Not Daniels, obviously.

Not Trump, who claims to have had no knowledge of any contact with or about Daniels after their brief affair.

Could it have been Cohen himself? That would have been certainly illegal, and evidence that Cohen knew (or employed) the alleged attacker could form the basis of today’s raid by the FBI.

Could it have been the “Russians”? A known Russian operative would certainly pop up on FBI and intelligence services radar very quickly. The Russian “connection” could have “bounced the ball” temporarily into Mueller’s court, but since the act was potentially a criminal one perpetuated by a foreign agent, Mueller would have handed the case off to the FBI to pursue.

As I said all pure speculation at this point, but nowadays, who’s to say?

Yes he is very much anit trump. People seem to forget but it was discussed trying to find crimes that can also be charged at the state level to prevent Trump from using his pardon authority. The NY AG opened an investigation into TRumps charity but ignored Clintons.

They deny it.

But as attorneys themselves they know it would jeopardize the ongoing investigation by Mueller.

Of course that # knew.
