No, the joke is he knows it's horrendous and is using that to piss off his girlfriend... That's the joke. That is comedy.

Some has shock value, some find it distasteful.

But let's not act like there isn't hundreds of stand up comics who have distasteful Jewish bits many could find offensive.

If you don't like certain speech, then don't consume it. But we can't go around silencing things we don't like.

But know, we already know the truth. You feell things that offend you should be criminal and should be said could lead to violence, but offensive things said about people you dont like is perfectly fine.

Funny, I dont see these people cheering for this guys arrest calling for the arrest of left wing comedians that say offensive things that could lead to violence.

I feel that free speech should allow any jokes on any side, and not only have fdefnded vulgar comedians on the left, but find many of them quite funny.

But again, we see that the people one the left, only they should be allowed to tell offensive jokes, anyone welse must be censored

If we look through history and find people being arrested, lynched, jailed, or even executed for saying something “grossly offensive”, we’ll find that most of them were the powerless speaking against the established order. Those who shrug at this are part of the established order, the type who shrugged when the enabling act was instituted, when witches were burned, and did nothing when their fellow citizens were sent to gas chambers.

if we are outlawing hate speech in any form , what is to stop them then defining any political dissidence as hate speech
or illegal speech

Even without laws, the ball is moving in that direction.

Look at how the media makes excuses for the violence or censorship against right wing people on campuses. Look at how social media companies are censoring people from the right and left that are critical of the establishment.

Look at how mainstream it is becoming to say its ok to enact violence on Nazis, and then calling anyone they disagree with nazis.

Well it looks like in the UK, that same pattern will now be taken into the law.

"We must arrest people that use offensive speech!" Ok sounds good, who are these people?

"Anyone I disagree with!" But what if people you agree with say the exact same type of things.

"Ah those are just harmless jokes!"

I've seen plenty of folks (both sides of the isle) equally outraged when you disagree on a political issue.

What happens when society not only gets used to certain lines of talking being silenced, but supports them?

One side gets power, and starts silencing the other.

That's where this goes, and for those who say that thought line is dramatic... We have plenty of countries to use as examples.

Yes it is. Excuses of that sort—people worried speech will cause some type of horrific crime—were used to justify Nuremberg laws, to crack down on folks marching behind MLK. Hitler was one of the worse censors that ever existed. All people should be worried when governments adopt the tactics of the worst regimes in history.
