There's reports, unconfirmed as yet by any major news source, that the Russians are hammering with air strikes and Syrian artillery shelling areas ahead of the Turkish convoy, preventing them from passing. Turkish convoy has apparently been seen headed back in the direction of Turkey.
The convoy was accompanied/escorted by Al Qaeda and affiliates from the Turkish border the whole time.

Videos on twitter showing the aftermath of a Russian air strike near an area the Turkish convoy was approaching before it was forced to stop.

The live Syria map seems to confirm those reports from the ground on twitter. TSK convoy stopped and retreated.

Interesting developments.

We've heard from a Turkish member how great Turkey is to the NATO military alliance, how vital they are and how they are the second strongest after the USA(despite the fact France and the UK could wipe Turkey clean off the map if they wanted to lol)

www.reuters.com...

They've only been able to make minor gains, after a week. Turkey has an airforce, the Kurds do not. The Kurds are only able to take down low flying aircraft, they lack any heavier anti-air capabilities. Yet the Turks are still struggling, with poor tactics and a poor result so far.

There's civilian casualties now from Turkeys air strikes, and they've even manage to hit an ancient temple.

I thought Turkey valued all these things. But here they are blowing them up.

Despite hundreds of aerial and artillery strikes…the Turkish forces, the factions and the Gray Wolves control during 11 days 3% of villages of Afrin area

31/01/2018

After the death and injury of more than 250 Syrian citizens since the start of Operation “Olive Branch”, hundreds of thousands of residents and displaced people suffer miserable and tragic humanitarian situations

www.syriahr.com...

Just 3% of the region they are attacking? LOL how humiliating.
First they got their asses handed to them in Al Bab by ISIS, now the YPG is handing them their asses in Afrin.
And the YPG has neither an air force nor does it have heavy armor like the Turkish army.

The Russian's have given the Turks the green light and cleared the skies for them. They've also moved their forces out of the area to let Turkey hit the YPG, and forced the other militias in the region to back away to give the Turks enough room.

Question now is...enough room for what? To humiliate them selves once again?

Go home Turkey.

The kurd's are very prepared and I fear ready to die before the Turkish advance, citizens will take up arms in defence of their people, against ethnic cleanse campaign by Turkey.
Unless Turkey's forces stand down, withdraw to seek an alternative solution, i expect Afrin will be reduced to ruble, that a massacre akin to yugoslavia could take place in the region.

Yes indeed. That convoy appears to have done a fast 180 turn in the face of those airstrikes.

The Kurds are one tough nut to crack....Good Luck Turkey.

Personally, i hope the Kurds kick Erdogon's backside all the way back to Ankara.

Didn't the West invade Iraq because for at least one reason, Saddam had been busy murdering the Kurds in Northern Iraq?

We send a multinational coalition to stop him, but say nothing when Turkey decides to slaughter them?

And zero UN resolution either?

If Turkey go ahead with this slaughter, they should be Kicked out of the UN, and Erdogan arrested and tried for genocide and war crimes.
