Moon Beam Missionaries From Esalen. I really do think that's basically it. They have their scripture and of course they pass the plate.

I wouldn't get in the hot tub with any of 'em, but that's just me.

The only thing I don't get is why there should be such a schism between our boys and Greer. This should be right up his alley, broadly.

But then there are numerous examples in history of small theological or philosophical differences creating huge rows. Wars even.

I am somewhat disappointed that it is just The Human Potential movement and it's offshoots budding another little flower. I was, alas, never a hard-core hippie.

So, with that in mind, who thinks there will be meditation in the next Sekret Machines book? Human Potential, the fire within. Warrior of the mind! A little Lucid Dreaming, perhaps? A smattering of Remote Viewing?

Oh well. I kind of liked The Men Who Stare at Goats, so it could be worse.

I think, however, that it behooves us (to paraphrase one of my heroes) to remember who these people are, where they come from and what they want.

Just in case they want us to join their metaphorical hot tub.

It doesn't really align with Greers 'peaceful space brothers' narrative that he's been peddling all these years so it's probably a threat to his little snake oil business.

Unfortunately while the supply of snake oil is probably unlimited the demand is almost certainly finite. Greer's market share is under threat from this new project. In both cases the aliens seemed to have been framed.

Good point.

I'ts obvious that all the niche players get cranky when a new kid on the block shows
up peddling their snake oil.

You'd think that they would have learned the lesson of the great "mother ship of
snake oil" - ancient aliens.

Various folks are hangers onto the central BS, and feed off the crumbs
(like David Wilcox).

That's a good, sort of "franchise" model of UFO/Paranormal deception as
a home business.

I went to look at his wedding photos (he sure looks happy.... good for him!)
and came across this link:

divinecosmos.com...

It's exactly what we are discussing.. a vicious attack by one snake oil salesman
to try and protect their turf from another snake oil salesman.

Now if they would all do that.. all debunk each other thoroughly, it would save
us a lot of effort, and we could get back to the business of investigating
'real phenomenon', if any..

I'd love to find and prove something a bit more solid.

It seems when the IC wasn't busy infiltrating the human potential movement they were busy creating it. I may even have that backwards. There's a decent amount of documentation to suggest that they brought it into existence. At least to the degree that it spread. I think there's little doubt that cult-building has been a particular field of experimentation.

The MK-ULTRA-type projects & Psy-Op Adepts have always dabbled amongst the fringe and used them to purpose it seems. And in turn have been infiltrated by the "movement" themselves to a large degree.

C.B. "Scott" Jones has said:

"There are reasons to believe that some government group has interwoven research about this (mind control) technology with alleged UFO phenomena. If that is correct, you can expect to run into early resistance when inquiring about UFOs, not because of the UFO subject, but because that has been used to cloak research and applications of mind-control activity.”

When asked if he continues to think the UFO subject cloaks mind control research and applications, Jones replied, "I think that the UFO/ET subject has been used to cloak a number of classified U.S. programs that certainly includes mind control. It probably has been used more often to confuse and disguise aerospace weapon systems than other subjects. It has been particularly effective when there is a presumed close relationship between what is trying to be protected and assumptions about characteristics associated with UFOs and ETs.

"For example, in my first visit to the old Soviet Union, Senator Pell asked me to find out what research the Russians were doing in the field of psychic phenomena. The first research institute I visited was publicly known to be involved in this area. What I discovered was that they also were tasked to look into the issues of UFOs and ETs. The lab director explained that so much of what they had learned about UFOs and ETs appeared to be psychic in nature that it was logical to research both areas together."

The reason I bring him up is for that quote and his participation in the "culture" we're discussing.

And while I'm thinking about this stuff, Mankind Research Unlimited is another fascinating story where human potential and spooks collaborated. Maybe "mated" is a better word than collaborated.

Jack Brewer at The UFO Trail has a good article on C.B. "Scott" Jones: The Interesting, Eventful and Incredible Story of Commander C.B. Scott Jones

Might as well throw this in too: The CIA Connections to the Mind Control Cults. The author had his own interesting experiences with Kit Green. I don't think it's recounted in that article, however, but definitely worth digging around for if it's still extant. Alex Constatine can get "out there" but overall he is/was a damn good researcher.

Have you read any of Vallee's journals, btw, BeeTee?

Thank You, Kev. I just stumbled on the great research of others in regards this aspect. All roads keep leading back to certain themes and the connections are there.

Most folk interested in ufology don't pay it much attention because they are looking for evidence of E.T. I was too when I found it, but taking a closer look at these aspects seemed much more revealing in so many ways.

I haven't written about the link between spirituality and government for a bit.. but with the
great previous posts, it bears repeating.

In the earliest days of the human race, dubious characters like shaman did little stage
shows, to modify people's consciousness. Now it had an element of self interest of
course.. but it served a social function.. and most people understood that. It was
'friendly and collaborative deception" that produced socially good results.

But when mass organized religion came around, it was purely a function of government,
of the government, by the government and for the government.. and if it wasn't, the
government took it over and made it their own.

For example the Roman Empire got sick of people saying "well my god told me not
to pay my taxes", etc.

So the Romans created/co-opted Chritianity, and had Jesus say "pay your taxes"
written right into it. Slaves obey your masters.. they made it QUITE
convenient for them as a tool.. nobody could say "well my god told me not
to pay my taxes" any longer.

So this schtick has been going on since then.. and all this human potential movement/
new age/UFO stuff is just the most recent incarnation of it.

This is installment one on this topic ... lunch is calling!

Well the Chinese leftovers were yummy! I inhaled them.

Ok, another installment. This won't be chronologically accurate, as this whole
subject is a clearly observable progression from the first cave paintings
in the Neander valley. But I'm jumping to one of my favorite rhetorical
topics: the "soul".

Now originally, the "soul' was not a big problem for society. Earlier concepts
of the soul like the Egyptin one, had the soul composed of various parts,
most of which faded away after death. Many other cultures either didn't
have souls at all, or more commonly they just faded away after a while.

It was a master stroke to invent a "soul" which was truly immortal.. but..
there is always a catch.. that immortal soul would suffer for all eternity
if you didn't obey explicitly the combined church/state power.

In Christianity for example, the master stroke was "original sin", as that
taught people never had any value.. they were damned from before
birth.. so nobody could feel good about themselves.. and become
troublemakers. They couldn't rise up.. as they had to be permanently
on their knees. Of course women had to obey their husbands to find
'salvation'. Very convenient for the husband and his needs.

Their psyches were crushed. That's what cults do.. they crush your
psyche and reprogram you to fit their needs. That's cult 101.
Just because a cult is large doesn't mean it's anything more than
a cult.

Now Government and Religion have always had an uncomfortable
alliance. Government wants all power. Religion wants all power.
So they fight for it. Endlessly.

Now some countries are living nightmares, where the dictator
is also worshipped as God.. such as North Korea today.

China got (for a while) Confucianism, which said that the local
government was a visible part of the entire Celestial Bureaucracy.

Lots of gimmicks have been used.

But the United States government has had a problem for a long time..
separation of church and state. And the US government has never liked
sharing power with the remnant of the Roman Empire (the Catholic
church) and it's offshoots.

They have wanted their own control mechanism for some time.

now in the USA this has lead to our "post factual era" where the
extreme left and extreme right are programming their sheep
with a "religion" so to speak.

But other groups, such as the intelligence community (and others)
seem to still be kicking the tires on the new age movement and
the ufo religion movement ("ufology").

if you can convince people that they can 'ascend' and/or commune
with aliens.. you can control them utterly.

Look at "Heaven's Gate" cult.

Now I think that various groups within the halls of power / the government
have been TRYING for a universal UFO/new Age religion for some time..
but it hasn't been working so well.

Oh there are plenty of people into it.. but the whole Roswell thing for example
has been debunked so thoroughly.. and various concepts in religion and new age
have been debunked so thoroughly.. that the experiment isn't as much of a success
as the experimenters would like.

Even a rock star can barely sell this drekk anymore.

Ok... that's enough for this installment.. I do have more to say on "the soul"
but i'll leave that for last.. as it's a non-governmental conspiracy of sorts.
