I'm incredibly sorry to hear this. She was an amazing person and member here. I remember her once completely changing my mind about something which is just about impossible on the internet.

I hope her loved ones and family find comfort and that we can all be a little more like her.

I know we're all going to miss her.

How heartbreaking.

Fly free, Kali, and may you find what your heart truly desires.

Edit: Augustus Masonicus mentioned the Jimmy Fund in his announcement about Kali's death. I wasn't familiar with the Jimmy Fund, so I looked it up.

More about it here... you can donate as well if you like.

It's a beautiful deed to help out local hospices with donations. On one hand it's social altruism and on the other there's a high chance we'll spend our last days in one.

I have missed hearing her thoughts on here, and am sad I will not hear them again.

Any person that is willing to discuss their feelings on many of lifes pressing, and not so pressing issues in the manner she did is someone to admire.

She was intelligent, bold, and most of all passionate.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have argued both with and against her.

My thoughts go out to her family, and all others affected by her passing.

May she rest in peace.

Rest in peace. The pain is gone now.

This sucks. Why do the planet's best always die way too early while the soulless, inhumane dregs keep kickin'?

Oh I didn't want to see this.
Somehow I just thought our special warrior would win.

I was honored to know and interact with her on ATS. She was one of the few who could smack you down and would then come pick you up, dust you off and give you a hug!

I hope you are soaring with the stars!

I have no profound words.

This song captures my mind when I think of our Kali.

Somehow I just thought our special warrior would win.

Me too , although the silence for the last few weeks seemed to hint at bad news coming the hope remained until yesterday.

Although our interactions were only digital the sadness is all to real , a reminder perhaps that we are a family here regardless of petty squabbles.

This sucks, words are simply inadequate.

My condolences to her loved ones, I wish you peace and sweet memories.

My condolences to ATS as well, we lost one of the best.... that rare member who could bring thoughtful content, provocative debate and fiery passion - and still manage to keep it mostly civil and make lasting connections with even her ideological adversaries.

Thank you for letting us know, AM. This is very sad news.

I'm at a loss for words, but I believe Kali was a Grateful Dead fan...so 'Ripple' it is:

There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone

Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow

You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home

Rest peacefully, dear Kali...

Thank you for another reminder of a moment when Kali reached out through cyber space and touched my life... Dear Kali, I cannot forget your brave and candid words and know that you shared your pain with us in hopes that we might love with more intensity. May your soul find rest in the presence of divine love.

Rest in peace, Kali.

My condolences to those closest to her. Seeing how she positively influenced ATS I can only imagine how it was to know her in person.

Been missing her contributions, very saddened to hear of her passing.

So, sorry to hear for family and friends, the site as a whole. May her memory last a lifetime and through that she continues to live and from beyond of the next realm. May her impact on the site remain a positive to all-even if we all don't agree with the same things.
