Hospice ...and a Sad Update

I am sorry to be the bearer of sad tidings but our dear friend Kali has passed. I spoke with her mom and she was at home surrounded by her friends and family.

Depite it not showing she logged in her son was reading her the messages that all of you posted and she appreciated all the well wishes, love and support. She did not feel capable of repsonding in a manner befitting your sincere thoughts and prayers so do not take it to heart that she did not post here since last month.

I had the good fortune of knowing her in person and she was a wonderful, smart, caring and funny person, this site and all it's members were better for knowing her.

During her final months she was treated at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center, which is part of the Jimmy Fund, and I saw first hand how well all of the staff she had interactions with made her feel that she was their most important patient.

I have made a personal donation in her name to the Jimmy Fund in hopes that this awful and terrible disease doesn't take another person we love.

Wishing you all my best thoughts in this sad time.

I'm short of words.

The internet is often a meritocracy for assholes and they rise to the top on a wave of likes and followers. Kali was better than that.

A Great Warrior Woman has passed.

She fought evil forces, just as her namesake.

You will live forever in your family and friends hearts.
You will live on here. Many tens of thousands have read your wise words and many more will.
RIP beautiful Kali. Your fierceness, humour and kindness will not be replicated on ATS anytime soon.

I'm very sorry to hear this. When she was gone for so long, I feared the worst, while hoping for the best.

She and I seldom agreed on the minor stuff, like politics. But we agreed on the important stuff, like everything else. I'll miss her, have missed her, around here.

Her family and friends are in my thoughts. Rest in Peace, Kali.

Although I had few direct interactions with Kali I always enjoyed her wit and her rare quality of being soft and fierce at the same time..
