No. The only reason we know about this is because Trump's team alerted the press that he would be calling the widow, enroute to receive her husband's remains, and the media was there waiting for them. So, as soon as Congresswoman Wilson stepped out of the limo, the press immediately began asking "Did the President call?" "What did he say?"

Ooops! The White House didn't get the response they were hoping for! So, attack the messenger, who happens to be a Democrat!

trump's talking heads on TV last night were even saying "she ran to the press within minutes". All the lies are disturbing, and it looks like they are coming from anybody associated with the man. Another person on TV last night who has known trump for years said "everybody trump touches rots on the vine". Not a pleasant thought for a person in charge of the country.

A mother co-opted by a lunatic democrat, so much so she was riding around with said radical democrat, is hardly going to be believed. She should be ashamed of herself for disrespecting her son in that way and being wilfully used by truly sick individuals.

I don't disagree with either of those statements.

It's gotten beyond ridiculous, for various reasons, one being that the President of the United States, after lying, does not have the decency or maturity to simply drop it and STFU, but doubles down, as with most everything else.

It's actually very sad.

That was my point, I have redirected the thread I started to here, in the hope that some people could apologise for their remarks here on those left behind, but I see they are still coming...what a disgrace.

Invite them, if you're going to speak with them, to the White House, give 'em a hug, tell them how brave they were, have a meal with them so they can talk about their boy, or something like that. Not "they knew what they were getting into", however true it may be.

This. 100%. You just don't say this crap to a grieving family after something like this. It is akin to telling the family of a person who died from lung cancer from chain smoking that they knew the risks of smoking, and smoking causes cancer. No sane, decent person says that. The family and the person who died already know this. What they need is comfort, support, and shared memories of the good life of the deceased.

Mrs.Johnson already knew what her h8usband signed up for and so did he, because every military spouse knows this and deals with it every day. She didn't need the president to remind her. What she needed to hear was that the president and country were not only grateful for his sacrifice, but that it was also not in vain.

Expecting that from this president is simply pointless, so I am unsurprising.

That's pathetic, there are many people here who have been vociferous about the treatment dished out to veteran soldiers by the paramilitary police forces, but you casually ignore that, as well as slyly add that they need to be of some particular persuasion...what a crock.

Trump, shoulda never called the widow period.. This guy's death has been politicized to death. Just wondering if the widow was republican and the congress bat crazy woman was republican whether this story woulda even been a story. Maybe trump, did not sound sincere maybe he did not remember his name but I highly doubt it was malicious, I think he meant well, but politics bit him in the ass. At this point thou the only ones making money off the story and getting attention is the crazy congress woman and the widow getting paid to interview with the liberal media to smear trump. The call was heard by other people and the words were even given to Trump as advice on what to say. Anyone who thinks Trump called to rub a mothers nose in the death of her son is frankly an idiot.

Kelly explained it well. I can perhaps understand the mother not understanding the message in the moment of grief, but to carry on this nonsense is truly beyond the pale. She should be utterly ashamed of herself. She's anti-Trump and has allowed herself to be used by truly sick people to play politics with her own son's life.
