Really is classic. I wasn't around in 2008, but if that thread is an example, things were a lot better then.

Isn't it common knowledge that not all of Antarctica is covered in ice and that there's a section with green grass that's warmed by hot springs? This was covered in history class (mine at least).

The OP is a consignment of geriatric shoemakers. Total fantasy. The SAS was disbanded in October 1945 (it later reformed as we now know it in 1950), there was no airfield in the Falklands prior to 1972, and that's just from the first part. No.

The solution to that problem would appear to be to fly due south from Gibraltar, take a pit-stop at Tristan De Cunha then due west to Chile.

But since this entire story is complete balls it doesn't really matter. Yetis at the South Pole, ffs. What are they meant to eat?

cave penguins.
as told in the story: at the mountains of madness by HP Lovecraft.

Flown to the falklands in the 1940's...In what??...from where..??

What did they land on? Did they even have an airstrip there at that time?
Gibraltar to Falklands is further than any plane of that day could fly.
I'm calling bs on this one.
