Kinda bummed out by ATS nowadays

Ok, so I very rarely reply on posts, I just like to read and learn both sides of an issue, and make my own opinions.

However, I am noticing a disturbing trend......

I can log in to ATS, and go to the new tab, and guess what...from reading the titles, I can tell you what the headlines are on Drudge, Info Wars, Huff Post, etc.!

I guess I don't get it, nobody is doing research or digging, just parroting what their favorite ideological soapbox site says.

Really, I miss the deep, well researched, news and posts that you can't find anywhere else.

It's been like this since Obama came to office and people flooded in in droves.

Same here it's sad. I wanted to send my gf here because she's into conspiracies and I thought about it and decided, nope not sending her to ATS it's just a political website now. Lame

Please, do some research into a topic you enjoy, put a thread together, and make this site what you want it to be.
Since it's entirely user generated content, if you don't like it, change it. YOU HAVE THE POWER.

I liked the site when it had regular threads in conspiracies and general weirdness. . And those threads were well thought out and presented..

I made quite a few myself that reached over 100 flags.. i wouldn't waste my time nowadays..

Imo ats had become tabloid bottom of the barrel rubbish for some time.

They Still Exist you just need to sort the wheat from the chaff.

There is a lot of political navel gazing going on here at the moment but while people respond to it the nonsense will prevail , I guess that's what the majority want.

And looking into old threads and re-reading them is a wonderful way to gain some perspective and see if you have changed any over time.

You are not lying. I often reread things because a new point will jump out at me. And, while I am political, I am just tired of the crap that goes back and forth...always the same, tired points and insults.
