Oh no, it´s him again. The overly correct grammar nazi. Not really in rage but don´t know where to put it.

So I see clueless members here, using the word Nazi, often in the form of "NAZI" maybe to make it more powerfull or clear. Yes I´m talking to you directly now.

If you need to use that word, please do it in the correct context. I´m sure very few are aware of the difference between a "nationalsocialistic" "nazi" and a "neonazi". Nazi isn´t simply the shortcut for "nationalsocialistic". The german word also does not contain a "z".

EDIT: of course the last part "sozial" does but that´s not the way shortcuts are formed in germany.

a) I don´t know who got the idea that is written in caps but it´s "Nazi" or for you english speakers who don´t use capital letters "nazi".
b) A so called "nazi" is someone who specially shares the view of nationalsocialism from WW2/AH and lived during that time.
c) Because of that, there are very few "nazis" left on earth. Bull# you say? No, it´s your misinterpretation about the word. In general, if you want to describe someone nationalsocialistic, he´s not a "nazi", he´s just that, nationalsocialistic.
d) If the person has not lived in or aquired the thought during that time in WW2, BUT shares or adopts their view, he´s generally (and also in law) considered a "neonazi".

This is a huge difference everyone should know about. A nazi was present / actively sharing the thoughts of AH / taking nationalsocialistic actions at the time, a neonazi on the contrary not. It´s very important.

Neonazis are basically those who identify with the thoughts of AH but were not present at the time. They didn´t got their view from AH directly but from history books and "real" nazis. They did not live during the time and all they know is from other peers or books.

Nationalsocialistic =! Nazi != Neonazi.

I hope I could shed some light on this.

Who says?

Care to share a definition from a scholarly source, which states that it is not appropriate to be realistic about a persons political persuasion, but that we ought to water down what we mean by what we say?

If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, and looks like a duck all at once, its a damned Nazi and you know it is. The chronology is not important.

No.

Nazi is the label you use for anyone to the right of wherever you fall on the spectrum.

Duh!

This is a very nice personal definition, but the dictionary gives us a definition that contradicts elements of yours:

Nazi
noun
noun: Nazi; plural noun: Nazis

1.
historical
a member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party.
derogatory
a person with extreme racist or authoritarian views.
a person who seeks to impose their views on others in a very autocratic or inflexible way.
"I learned to be more open and not such a Nazi in the studio"

adjective
adjective: Nazi

1.
of or concerning the Nazis or Nazism.

I would suggest the usage of 'Nazi' that has been getting used most often on ATS lately is the one where it's being used to describe people with extreme racist or authoritarian views.

Just adding that I got confused at you saying that the word NAzi has no Z in German. It bloody well has, because it is short for: Nazionalsozialist [National Socialist]. You wrote some stuff with c's in it that is english.
I agree with the misuse of the word, but man you need to scrub up on your knowledge about the things you write.

Use capital letter for "english", as in English.

Need I go on? No.

To topic. I share your frustration, but the word "Nazi" is just a coverall term for people with right wing affiliations, including things like anti-Semitism and racial superiority. Thing is, while the left are really keen to throw the word about, they don't see their hypocrisy as they are also deeply anti-Semitic. Look to the UK's Labour Party for proof.

I still do not understand the difference. To associate yourself in any way with the philosophy means you would poison, cook, and perform medical experiments on children if ordered to. It's just another animal.

Nazi = present at the time.
Neonazi = adopted views
nationalsocialist != nazi.

I do NOT associate myself with that, just to be clear.

Why don't we just stop all this he said she said, nazi, fascist, right, ,left divide and conquer stuff?

It's blatantly obvious that they are winning.

Just stop and ask the question: Why is all this identity politics and right vs left being forced on us in the most obvious clumsy manner?

I´m sorry to tell a fellow german that the word "Nation" (same meaning as in english) is NOT written with a "z". you made me chuckly quite a bit!

Regardless, as a German YOU should know the difference between a neonazi and a nazi. It´s teached in school, did you fell asleep?

No it´s not, you even delivered your own answer:

a member of the a member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Since it´s nonexistent after the war, BY DEFINITION it´s like I wrote and is exactly how law enforcement, judges and the law defines it.

Another source since you want proof and don´t believe me:

www.collinsdictionary.com...
neo-Nazism in British

I dont see why we should say "neonazis", we dont say "neocommunist" even though communist today was not present during the birth of the first communist wave right? So if we apply the same logic the OP just did and those who agree with him/her we should put "neo" infront of all ideology/religion etc. like neochristians, neomuslims, neorepublican...I mean, it is just dumb, right?

Of course it makes a difference because if you talk about someone being a "nazi" it means he was actively partaking in the regime from WW2! A huge difference now, since there are still people alive. In 100 years, it´s not so necessary anymore because it would be clear that if you lable a living human a "nazi", that he certainly wasn´t alive at the time.

It´s a huge difference in law enforcement currently.

I´m sorry that this is the official definition in the country that spawned this! If we start ignoring the exact meaning of words we can go back to using "ugga ugga" and our hand and feet to communicate.

I have coined this acronym as it now describes the butchering of what an actual Nazi was, get your thinking cap on....

N ewage
A morphic
Z eitgeist
I nitiative

You can thank Hillary Clintons epic loss, and her supporters reaction for creating a new Nazi - a freakoid devoid of lateral thinking totally driven by emotional reactions to TV and Trump.

You know, I think sometimes that's what bugs me the most. Someone[s] is pulling the strings on this. It got out of hand So. Fast.
MSM fanning the flames at every chance, politicians pushing the same BS as the media, speeches taken out of context to fuel the fire, groups like the white nationalists clashing with antifa and people are being dragged out of their cars or assaulted on the street for their political beliefs.
Saddest of all, we here have fell for it just as much. I swear, the next time I see someone say they're "awake" to TPTB manipulation, I'm calling BS. We have followed their programming to the letter.
ETA - Not all, but far too many have fallen for the "pick a side" and I include myself.
