A van has ploughed into crowds on the Ramblas tourist area in Barcelona.

Spanish police say several people have been injured in a "massive crash".

The emergency services are urging people to stay away from the area around Placa Catalunya.

Basrcelona is a dump mate. No surprises with the news today. I went for a weekend a few years ago. Walking around after dark was mental. Little african girls jumping out of alleys wrestling you to the floor for your wallet. We were warned by a Brit in a bar he'd had his wallet taken in this manner the night before. Also numerous bottles of water thrown at us as we walked throgh some arab / morroccan type market and hurled abuse and gesticulation. Just walking down a street. Why anyone would go there again is beyond me......... Barcelona is a dump. No surprise with todays news whatsoever
