Do you know what they are marching for? Did you get a flier?

I mean go on their websites. Not that I agree they shouldn't have a right to speech but, you get into grey areas when they are trying to make unfavorable reactions by design.

There was a day where siding with Nazis WAS considered treason.

Yea when they ran a country and we were at war with them, this is a group of dumb idjits (NOT rednecks) who probably do not have to many branches on the family tree for the most part.

Unless you have proof they are actively working to destroy the country, then without war... not treason.

Uh that may be part of it but it got way bigger than that. There are a lot of hate groups present.

Why can't the town vote on a park name change?

You seem to have misunderstood me. The town government did not have a vote of the general populace and did not want such a vote. They did it by town council only, because they wanted to remove the statues and a popular vote would have rejected any changes.

And yes, of course I'm aware there are hate groups present. I'm saying they are there because the town government created this event. They allowed this protest to happen as a scheduled event. They could have stopped it from happening entirely, instead of turning it into Nazi Woodstock.

They basically invited all these race hate groups in to try and make it look like they did the right thing when they changed the park name and planned to remove the R.E. Lee statue. It was hugely irresponsible and it is blowing up in their incompetent faces, because it got way way bigger than they planned for it to get.

Do you support an ISIS rally for celebrating the chopping of christian heads?

That's an interesting point.

Nazi ideology would like to see me dead.
ISIS would like to see me dead.
Hell, BLM would like to see me dead.
Communists would like to see me dead.
Socialists would like to see me dead.

So many ideologies that I disagree with, would be opposed to. I'd be on any one of their "enemy" lists.

It all comes down to what you consider as freedom, I suppose.

I don't agree with any of those ideologies. But living in a free society carries a burden of freedom. We must tolerate all "thought".

Because we wouldn't want to endorse "thought police".

Any actions by the above groups would have to come under the scrutiny of the law and violation of the law.

But hey, we should respect that because it's their right.

ATS is making me sick today.

Richard Spencer just called for a HOLY WAR live on periscope.

Jesus people. Look at whats going on. Youre either with America or with this scum

Hmm, Richard Spencer is a moron.
Not being 'with' him hardly means everyone can sing kumbaya together.
"America" vs "Richard Spencer" is far too simplistic.

Ah. OK.

That is bs. Yes it should be a vote.

Unless there is something like the phrase under it like in N.O. proclaiming white supremacy. In which case just plaster over the words.

Some states and flags have been put up after the civil rights votes ending segregation as protest, so I wasn't clear at first where this star was in the scheme of things. Lee was a soldier for the US as well as the Confederate army so he is a historical figure beyond the civil war even. Really the only issue I can see is the statements under plaques if they are still uh...old school.

However nazis marching with confederate flags should concern everyone. Now the symbols are being changed to mean other things. By those in your own protest lines so to speak.
What a mess.

It goes without saying that nobody here is happy that some idiot plowed into a group of people. What is wrong with you?

But you have to admit these cowards in hate groups use the constitution to hide their plans, recruit, and then carry them out. Because people do still get killed and beaten by members.

It's a bunch of wing nuts who think that just because millions of people pushed back against the country moving too far left, they somehow are aligned with millions of people.

They have delusions of grandeur.
