I agree. 99% of what's posted here now is absolute garbage.

As opposed to all the other garbage going on end to end as it always was?

What is the difference of then and now.

You need to visit the archives here. There is a lot of high-quality content from the early years of this forum.

The reason you get such 'home politics' is due to people really deep down feeling like they have no voice and thus they come to forums such as this to vent their views, hoping for someone to listen.

Does actual politics 'actually' help us? Regardless of politics between people here. Politics is the very meaning of smoke and mirrors and thus, no mention of anything political aids us. As you mentioned, the various real world problems like our health, is being missed and overlooked.

I worry about Fukushima than I do Trump, Clinton, or any of the rest of them.

But Fukushima isn't a hot topic (pun intended) because the Japanese Government and Tepco have virtually shut all the news and information.

3 unlocated melted nuclear cores are worse than all the politicians combined.

What the heck is wrong with you?

You've been discussing "politics" for years here, but what's the point? What do you really know? Actually, nothing, but watch how you are obsessed. Politics comes after economics, after all, but you take tweets as a real matter. You are so busy to bring another MSM story here and spam our forum with it, which is not actually designed for that stuff.
Take a look: not a single political thread has an actual value; you are discussing the topics that brought by TPTB via MSM. And at the same time you think that you are "different" and you "know".

The amount of energy you waste on the topics like Trump said this, Trump tweeted that, etc. is hilarious. You title each other as a "leftist", "libertard", etc. while Real Powers milk you. It's not that fun to discuss the obliteration of Libya or Yugoslavia, but it's cool to discuss Trump's dementia or Hillary's twitches, right?

Why we don't discuss real issues? Like, I don't know, what is going on with our planet, what is going on with people today, how world's economics really works, fiat currencies issues, slave labour issues, how to stay mentally healthy, how to reach out for the Mind, what are the Universal laws (if they exist), how to raise kids in the world of anti-family conspiracy, what can we do to resist the Agenda of the Machine, etc.

In other words one would prefer we;

So would I actually...sniff! but only for those who insist in talking perennial shiite.
Curiously, most of those items you mention in preference, are in the realm of politics, so I guess you mean we must be quiet about the great Senor Trumpo...good try!

Me too. But isn't it too late to worry now? It's the chance we all take messing with nukes. I'm 100% we will have a nuclear war or accident in the future, but nothing is going to stop it, once we accepted nukes all over the planet. Politics divert from all the disasters we are not prepared for and never will be. I would just like to see humans live a good life til then with good government and jobs.

In a time when politics have run amok the onus is on the common man to be the architect of his own salvation. We speak out because we care and we have little else to do in the way of resolution than try to convince others of our cause and hope they join us. The sadness and madness of this is in the polar opposition of views on common events. We all watched hillary blatantly cheat (criminally) in the election. Half of us wanted her in jail the other half wanted to grant her access to the highest office in the land. Five Billion dollars disappeared under her watch and half of us want to hand her the entire Nation.

The number of threads and the intensity with which these matters are discussed is exemplar of how strong these feelings are in the masses. We all know something is wrong. We have at least two very different opinions of exactly what that is.

Divide and conquer. We have already been, yet we still argue over who goes to the gallows first. We should just wait our turn. We will all get there sooner or later...

In my opinion, it is because most have chosen their window through which to view the world's madness as their pet subject. Good intentioned, no doubt, and I may not be any different but here's how I see "the big problem"...

Overcentralization, in a nutshell, is the root cause of the disparate issues most everyone latches on too and argues over. Ever heard the argument that no form of government is best because history shows that people intrinsically suck and will eventually f things up? Maybe capitalism, socialism etc all failed because they were initiated and operated by the few on behalf of the many. So perhaps it wasn't the system that was corroded but instead the scale was too large with too few controllers.

My message to these boards, for as long as they keep my interest, is to cross these divides and get busy on community work which will effectively take back different forms of power we have surrendered through time. You can't shop at Walmart and then try to keep Walmart's giant pocketbooks from endlessly trying to subvert your form of government.

I may be a simpleton, but all these subjects that people argue over appear to be just forms of entertainment to me and we just need to start providing as much of our needs locally as possible. Then we can stop arguing and start collaborating. Trump, Hillary, the Illuminati, the Archons, the Jesuits and the reptilians all alike can disappear while we form local power centers and cull our materialistic umbilical cord to uncontrollable centralized forms of provision. Piece by piece. Maybe only our grandchildren will live in a paradigm of true representation/control through our efforts but I don't see any other way.

Clearly nobody is an expert in politics, or they'd have got it right by now. The fact is that it exists because we all do and we don't all usually agree on things. Five years ago all anyone could talk about gays and now there's this particular whinge, it will always follow current events. If anything I miss reading about UFO's on these boards and how often do you read a thread about the Turkish false flag 'coup'? But it is what it is.

Omg...another "tissue thread staring the freaking sensitive of ATS.This thread is so lop sided ,you didn't mention fox,and your obviously from the right.

Now that trump is going to get impeached, his son's are going to jail and obviously the left has been right the entire time...here comes a whining thread...from the right.

So...your telling me..that for the next 2 to 4 months, the right wing is going to start crying all over the boards...just.. big crocodile tears eery where. This is ATS huh?,

Addressing your point about why some of us focus on politics instead of addressing real issues is a rather easy query to answer:

Because in a modern society all important issues are reliant upon politics to be effectively addressed.

Want to feed the hungry? Takes a Herculean political movement to make it happen.

Want to address global warming ( or produce some definitive proof that it's a hoax )? Again, requires political pressure and resources.

Want to fix the economy? Political agreement on policies to effect the necessary changes are required.

It all boils down to politics.

It always has all boiled down to politics - since the Minoans, Sumerians and Inca were facing their own problems.

The issue in the west, particularly in the US and Great Britain currently isn't that politics is necessary to effect change - it's that the propagandizement of politics, the inclusion of marketing tricks and extremely effective behavioral triggers into the process has turned politics into more of a team sport than a mechanism meant to enable effective governance.

Idiot is a word derived from the Greek ἰδιώτης, idiōtēs ("person lacking professional skill", "a private citizen", "individual"), from ἴδιος, idios ("private", "one's own").[1] In ancient Greece, people who were not capable of engaging in the public sphere were considered "idiotes", in contrast to the public citizen, or "polites"

Source

Our modern word idiot was born to describe private people who didn't feel a compulsion to participate in the public arena. The uninformed, disinterested and self-absorbed.

I wouldn't have said he's advocating alphabet agencies, just merely pointing out that a President often discredits them.

It's interesting. However I do fully agree with the OP, the circus came to town and instead of us (ATS) focusing on watching the shows and finding out how they did their tricks and stunts, we instead picked sides and became contortionists ourselves.

I've asked questions in hopes to drum up conversation and a bit of thought... Questions like.

Why do you think China stuck with the Paris Climate Agreement?

How can the swamp be drained?

Will Trump support Korean talks after his bluff was called by North Korea?

Is it smart to sign another historical arms deal with Saudi Arabia what with the Arab Gulf slowly slipping into chaos?

It just comes out as "blah blah blah blah" because I'm not saying that Trump is my sugar daddy or that he can go to hell.

A brilliant TV quote:
I want to believe.

People want to believe Trump is draining swamps, taking on the agencies, has the interest of the plebs in his heart etc etc. Whilst the other side wants to believe all the negativity around him, some of it true.

We're so caught up in the game, we're making banners and picking sides...

In reality though, we're just continuing the current trend and that trend is extremism.

Take a step back, realise only you and your close associates have your back, and stop being so bloody extreme.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but Remus was killed on one. Maybe Romulus should've built a bigger wall? Maybe they didn't need to disagree?

One thing is for certain about them though, people followed them like sheep do a shepherd. That's another trend that's continuing too.

Easy to complain. You start. Tell us what the most important issue of the day is. Climate? made up drivel by scientists competing for another Government grant. People on here have their personal interests and this sight, as ridiculous as it gets some time is the only outlet for many to express it. Our government has slowly slipped into being corrupt and it is pretty frustrating for the average person who has zero power, except at the ballot box, to do anything about it. And even on election day, it is suspect whether the person who actually gets the most votes will actually be declared the winner since the corrupt political hacks have figured out how to make dead people vote, illegal immigrants vote, and multiple votes by individuals.

OP, I hate to say it, but you became a member about five years too late. Around about 2010 or 2011, ATS became more politically mainstreamed.

From about 2006-2010, ATS discussed politics, but it was from the angle that the right-left paradigm was screwy and both sides were taking advantage of the common person's ignorance. Then 2010 came along and you could see distinct mainstreamed political ideology infiltrating the site. It has just gotten worse and worse since.

The government has been corrupt for quite some time, we're talking about for the last 50 or 60 years. Something that was ACTUALLY discussed here ONCE UPON A TIME. Now, it's just mainstream bull# partisanship.
