You know if Trump strikes first, he is only going to martyr Kim Right?

Making Kim a martyr will only strengthen the inevitable North Korean insurgency.

If Kim completes his nuke and successfully nukes the west coast of the US or one of the neighboring country's. None are the wiser. Damned if you do or damned if you don't.

North Korea has a maniac with nukes and you leave him to his own devices, people will die regardless.

there are numerous other maniacs with nukes

No other country that has nukes are threatening on a daily basis to destroy America or any country that threatens their so called "sovereignty". Unless you want a 5 year old mindset of a man waving his nuke toy around like a flag and endlessly making threats to destroy you....

And if we invade North Korea we will lose and a New North Korean leadership will come to power and continue where Kim left off.

And in a war like this many US troops will die for nothing.

NATO/ US/South Korea/Japan/ China(forced hand) vs North Korea? Yeah that is definitely a lose lose situation there.

What about via an insurgency?

You really think China and Russia will allow US troops in former North Korea?

They will be supporting the insurgency covertly along with fifth columnists.

What does Turkey have to do with North Korea? I don't see them training their armies day in and day out for a "future war" with America or threatening to invade its neighboring countries. I fail to grasp what you are trying to convey?

They had no problems endorsing attacks in the previous 8 years, some even endorsed the assassination of American citizens, the last bit was just a lame play on the nature of politicians voting for it before they were against it.

Now Horror of horrors a Republican is thinking about a preemptive strike, so Congress must approve everything and anything... even though since 1973 a president does not need to consult Congress for 90 days.

I'm not a fortune seer. I would hope they are on the side of supporting the removal of Kims dynasty. I would imagine a deal with China to install a interim government in NK would be the best bet. The US military would have no reason to stay in former NK.

A lot of planning and deals must be made. Russia. I don't see what Russia would gain in attacking the US via proxy.

For once Democrats are right. It is too soon to launch a preemptive strike. But I would not make that a permanent promise.

Fine the only realistic scenario I can think of a North Korean military dictatorship installed by China that is more saner than Kim Jong Un. Of course the Kim Leadership has to go away.

It will be up to China though not the US.

A US occupation of former North Korea will be a nightmare and will be 10 times worse than Iraq.
