Car Plows Into Pedestrians In Times Square

This is just breaking. A car has plowed into pedestrians in Times Square. I'll update with more shortly.

Several Pedestrians Struck By Car In Times Square

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Several people have been struck by a car in Times Square, CBS2 reported.

At least 10 people have reportedly been hit by a red Honda before it came to a stop at 45th and 7th Avenue.

The driver of the Honda has been extricated from the car, CBS2’s Jim Smith reported.

So far we the motive behind the incident in unknown – whether it was a medical condition or something else.

Just saw them drag the guy into custody on the video.....no medical issue with him.

It seems like if it were a planned terrorist attack, the driver would have selected a far larger vehicle and probably not ended up propped against a pole but it's a little early to rule it out. I know when I first heard it, my initial thought was terrorist attack, particularly given the location.

Sky News is saying they have unconfirmed reports that the vehicle was accelerating and weaving through traffic before it struck anybody.

They also say CBS New York is saying NYPD has already told them it's not terror related.

Either way, for the vehicle to be that far over the barrier it was hauling ass.

ETA - also saying the vehicle was driving the wrong way, too.

Thanks both, I'm not from the States and thought you called them DUI's and DWI was something different.

Wow!!

Thoughts with all those affected by this crazy incident. Media have stated that Police do not think it is terror related, so as some have said here, probably drink or drug related.
