The second agreement, the Treaty of Alliance, made the fledgling United States and France allies against Great Britain in the Revolutionary War. The French decided to back the U.S. in its military efforts until the U.S. had full independence from Great Britain.
French and British ships at the battle of the Chesapeake off Yorktown in 1781; the British fleet departed, leaving the army with no choice but to surrender. ... France played a key role in the American Revolutionary War (American War of Independence; 1775–1783).

It is low but that's what the media said about BREXIT. So maybe next time after this term.

I also sincerely doubt that Le Pen will become the President of France
I challenge what you state! The opposite will be true in regards to the UK economy. What happens with the EU remains to be seen. Don't be blinded by the elite controlled media mind games. Yes La Pen's chance appears low but so was BREXIT and TRUMPY! La Pen has now re-invented herself somewhat detached from the NF and break the republican front so the wall is down and there are a few things that will go against her rival and they are

Yawn. Folks here on ATS have been "predicting" the end of the EU and the demise of the Euro for over a decade. It's total BS. Not going to happen. Watch this space. After the UK leaves and France kicks Le Pen into the wilderness it will grow stronger.
You see the problem with bulls.it is that it is literally bulls.it and thus no truth. Since there is no truth then any predictions are totally meaningless, hence all the meaningless predictions about the EU here on ATS for nearly 2 decades.
The reason why Theresa May has called an election ? She knows the utter economic nightmare that the UK is heading for and in 2020 (normal election year) less then a year after the ACTUAL REAL BREXIT the economy will be really bad.

All of the Media said Trump would lose to Clinton by a landslide. The news casters don't know everything.

Some. I have lots of French friends who cannot go back to a fascist like Le Pen, they remember their past well.

The last time fascists had control of France was over 70 years ago and caused by a certain Austrian fellow with an odd moustache and his fellow Nazis.
Your many French friends must be quite old?

Yeh but TRUMP is a male with a young wife (that's normal - my wife's 24 years younger than me), but a young boy of 39 with a wife who's a pensioner tells a very different story! So my standard not double because I am same as TRUMPY but not Mme, if you get my drift! And the bit about the granny wife is not about strength of character but about he still needs a mummy and needs a trophy mummy!

24 years older, same as Trump and his wife, Trump is 24 years older than Melania and I don't see you saying anything about that. Double standards.
4. he is 39
... and??? Many presidents/PMs have been around his age, Obama, Blair, Cameron etc.
5. he looks like a little #
Yeah, because Trump, Le Pen and May don't! LOL
6. he is a male which swings the lady vote to La Pen
Nope, women love a man who is proud of his older wife, shows strength of character, the opposite of some presidents who only like to have trophy wifes.

La Pen not a young woman so with that in mind I think that the fact Mme has a mummy wife will go against him in this election. Remember he is running for president not school monitor! Having said that its going to be difficult for Pen to win but you never know!

Well, what you have to keep in mind is that it is french people that will be voting, and in France, they value older women a lot more than the US. The women get less fat in general, for one thing, but also they see the value of a woman is largely due to her mind and wisdom- not just her body. Men with women older than them tend to brag a lot about that here.
That is not only a non-issue , it is a point in his favor.

You mean you've heard of the French Revolution? France, being significantly older than the US by a couple of thousand years is not easily compared. But you are historically informed, I'm sure you also know that the United States would not have existed without France's considerable contribution.
The second agreement, the Treaty of Alliance, made the fledgling United States and France allies against Great Britain in the Revolutionary War. The French decided to back the U.S. in its military efforts until the U.S. had full independence from Great Britain.

So I guess the French were politically sophisticated enough to actually contribute to the birth of the United States!
That said, Marine Le Pen has more to do with the history of France during WWII because she and her family have often expressed support of the Vichy government, which was the puppet government installed by the Nazi's in occupied France. If you don't know about it, I suggest you research it before supporting Le Pen and her ilk.
