What if the thing is really a drone...and it has an optional seat for a pilot. This might just be a companion aircraft.

It looks like they want something simple that can be mass produced very quickly. IMO they see that they need numbers or an advantage. So numbers it is.

Add an explosive to it,might hurt someone.

The AvGeek in me is totally disappointed.

The aircraft "unveiled" today was an F-5F with upgraded avionics under the SR.II program that was cancelled with China. The Kowsar-88 was deemed unsafe to fly due to sanctions, so they used the F-5 instead.
