What i would love to see are programmes in schools actively encouraging black youth to consider farming. It is a very dangerous profession for whites,so i doubt many white youth would be interested,but i don't see why the government should not invest heavily in producing generations of successful black farmers. In fact,to not do so,is imo,dangerously shortsighted.

Hi Rox long time indeed, would love to visit, pls keep that invite open, right now it's all about timing, just started some new projects, there is obviously still growing pains, and things may yet get worst before they get better, America although older than post Brit ruled S.A and post apartheid still haven't got it right..but i am an optimist and is rooting for all you guys.

i don't see that ending the same way dubeers and the osterman family have to much tied up in the diamond trade there. and part of the reason that africa stays poor with all this mineral wealth is companies like dubeers they went and had diamonds from places like nigeria labeled conflict diamonds so tyhey could not be sold to most places to cut down on competition. also africa is like most places full of bureaucratic corruption that takes bribes to let multinational companies come in and steal the wealth. remember king solomons vaunted wealth was based out of his mines in african.

It appears with the present regime, South Africa is still a raciest country, and shooting itself in the foot, because a populist leader seems to be loosing favour and playing the race card to stay in power. Its a shame because if educated people spend a few hours discussing the problem, after half an hour you don't notice skin colour, basically South Africa is cursed with dumb corrupt politicians, much the same as us.

This is a ridiculous comment. I am a white South African. Both my parents were born here. All my Grand parents were born here. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Please allow me to elucidate. What I perhaps properly failed to onvey is the following and I should also add that my country of origin (UK) is no exception:

If one invades another country, somewhere down the line, there are going to be "problems". Their problems happened a lot more recently than our problems. I in no way advocate the illegal and brutal evictions of anyone, anywhere. I remember a story about the British, they gave natives a blanket deliberately infected with Smallpox.

What do you expect from socialist Presidents? They thought that white landowners didn't deserve their land because of "colonialism hundreds of years ago", and instead decide to give the land to people who have no idea on how to farm.

BTW, what happened in Zimbawe after they took lands from white people who knew how to take care of the land, and then the land was given to black people who didn't know anything about farming, and most didn't even try to learn. What some new black landowners did to try to learn is to ask the same landowners whose lands were taken from to teach them what to do.

But we have got large groups of black extremists also demanding this same kind of thing to happen in the U.S... "You are white, give me all your stuff..."

There are also many whites who also believe the same BS and are demanding alongside black extremists for "whites to repay blacks for things that happened hundreds of years ago...

Most of us have had forefathers that were slaves at some time in the past, in Russia the Serf was owned by the landowner up until the time of the Revolution. Many great Opera singers and ballet dancers were surfs and all their earnings went to the person who owned them, they were basically loaned out at the going rate. Many old houses in Russia have whipping rooms down in the basement where surfs were disciplined. In the end you have to say the past was a different country, and that's that.

Just like in the US everything is always a misdirected anger and skewed rebellion. The ones who steal from us and the ones who steal from them know just how to shift blame onto some race or minority creed. Here totally innocent whites born and raised African are chased out because nothing more than people like De Biers and the Dutch royal family just happen to be white. What would be fair would be to go pull the executives of copper companies, diamond mines, rubber farming companies etc out of their offices, march them to the nearest atm and empty him out, then be honest enough to turn those billions over to the people and not to a small regime skilled in influencing the poorly educated and poor

One of the biggest problems here in South Africa is the constant bombardment by the media and politicians who continually use the race card to incite and divide this nation.

ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING is about the colour of one's skin here. We are so hung up on race that it is easy for things to boil over quickly. The sad part being that in many instances and on many occassions we have put aside our differences. When we do that we are a beautiful and strong nation.
