Ok, any good hackers out there? I mean good ones, no the bad ones
we need information on how to protect our home base technology from the CIA.

I take anything that will help.

Smart phones, smart TV, recently even my internet provider send me a new state of the art modem.

That's just demonstrating what many already know, stuff is compromised, and spying is rampant.

I don't. I'm just commenting on the dishonest, fake outrage.

Speaking only for myself, what I am outraged about transcends what goes on at CNN.

The decline of the integrity of journalism, the obscuring of information, the absence of objectivity, and lack of morality from once distinguished professionals, is an overwhelming problem that infects not just CNN but is also actively working to subvert the free thoughts of individuals like you and me.

I assume I'm not the only one who sees the problem, and my outrage isn't fake.

The exploits are present straight out of the factory. I'm not certain that you could do much to get around them besides going completely dark. First step though is NOT using the new modem from your provider if that even needs to be said.

This isnt really about CNN or the news. How about we get back to the topic at hand, which is the leak and the content of the dump.

just looking at the history of what we know, and knowing that is probably less then 50% of what has occurred, if those in power want to get you or monitor you, it will happen.

The spying agencies in our nation, including the private sector have a hand on Americans privacy, is despicable, this are now the ramifications of Bush anti American patriot act.

Abused to the end by the Obama former administration.

The spying agencies are a government on their own and they answer to nobody, yes nobody.

Corruption at its highest.

I been waiting for this to happen for years, finally they are in the spot light and people better don't forget about all this and scream for accountability

Simple, no internet.

There's a reason the CIA's database isn't connected to the world wide Web.

I think you are missing the point to why people are "upset" at CNN..

You keep bringing up the same "but if they're fake news why do you care," rhetoric when I KNOW that you absolutely understand the outrage, but for some reason you keep on....

Of course I understand the outrage. CNN has become the go-to scapegoat of the media and people will bitch and complain about them, no matter what they do.

Manufactured, dishonest outrage.

But we are all addicted to it, if we are not connected no business and information can be accessed.

First they lure us with the gadgets, then they took away ways to be able to know things without internet, then they gave us accessibility monitored for our own good.

The only thing they have not taken is our right to have cash money.

Does anyone expect pressure being brought to bear on Ecuador for continuing to allow him to stay at the embassy?

Will there be a rendition flight in Julian's future?

I suspect he may have pissed someone off this time.

Well, one thing you can do is setup a new VLAN on your home network and segregate your devices you deem suspicious to that VLAN. Ensure that VLAN is firewalled off from your internal network.

Another thing you can do is take a look at physical security. Put some tape over that Webcam or microphone, disconnect that ether net cable or disable the WIFI if you can.

There are a lot of things you can do, but unfortunately it takes a little know how for some of the technical lockdowns.

Don't believe for a second that no internet make you immune from being monitored. There were days before the 'net.
