TA says it's nothing to be concerned with.

Here's a screen shot of 2.5+ in the last 30 days.

That's all I've got!

Does anyone know?

The depth on these are auto-located, give em a little while and look again after they've been reviewed and the depth and initial magnitude will probably both change.

This is odd, though, that there have been that many quakes, that close in magnitude at that spot in the Atlantic. That's not generally a high seismicity area. If you look at historic seismicity in the area, you don't see anything bigger than a 6 anywhere within thousands of miles, in places those normally occur.

Come watch them live at TA's feed.

Hi!

Reviewed now & all still the same depth & magnitude.

I checked the historic seismicity as soon as I saw the list. It's striking how most of them in the mid-Atlantic, are right smack on the fault line. Just like ants following a sidewalk crack!

I was too late to see them on TA's feed. They were long gone!

Hi WOQ

I was looking at that area, and it seems there's a volcano just west of where those quakes are.

I've only been lurking on TA's quake feed so far!
Computer is in the shop, plus having email issues for a couple of weeks now. Can't send or receive! Long story! So I'm waiting until everything is fixed.
I'm not too savvy with this dumb smart phone yet!

Well, We'll be there when you can.

So did you check out that picture I posted?

Does that look like a volcano to you?

And if it is, is there a way to find any information on it?

I did quite a bit of searching today for volcanoes in that area. Nothing came up with the same coordinates. I put in a general search for volcanoes in Mid-Atlantic Ridge. There are some in the general area, so maybe it's new activity.
49 listings, but not all had the coordinates listed.

A lot of useful information on this one:

volcano.si.edu...

Latest info is only from August 8 though.
There's a search available there if you know the volcano name, but nothing using just the coordinates!

Thank you for that link.

Well somethings going on out there in the atlantic.

Someone posted a thread a time back about mapping underwater volcanos.

I will try to look for it this afternoon.

Hurry up and get your confuser fixed. We have a lot of fun over there. And learn so much.

It's a real pain try to navigate on a phone. Muzzy's computer took a dump on him too. He's been working off his phone.

He's actually pretty good at it. lol

I am definitely watching that region, Crappiekat. This morning I noted that it seems multiple larger 4s are shaking booty over there. WOQ...please come to the stream when you can. I have no idea how so much fun is had in a seismic live stream...but good heavens, somehow those good folks have me guffawing aloud at times. (Warning: Terribly Addictive. We are not to be held responsible if you start falling asleep in front of your computer monitor, unable to remove the TA Live stream syringe from your skull.)

Cheers.

And other shakes out there in the Atlantic too earlier in areas that are generally not that seismically active.

HFG is right too, we have lots of fun in TAs channel. The new server is being configured as we speak and as soon as the new stream is up it will be on the dedicated machine.

Just curious, but is anyone expecting anything to happen during the solar eclipse today? I know EQs can sometimes be triggered by solar-like events.. I hope nothing significant happens.. I have the "bug out" bag ready in downtown seattle just in case...

I also saw 4.3 from one report. Figured it would be revised up with collapsed buildings.

The good news they are pulling people out of the rubble. Bad news, there is no electricity.
