Just found out we British have the best Plugs :D.

I never really thought of our plugs before this video then it gave me a little bit of national pride for them .
This kind chap explains why we have the best plugs.

Since the thread has been going that way... My last GF was British and of course plugs aside instead of inside sockets. She was like talk naughty too me not something I'm a huge fan of BTW so I start and she said oh... the language the language you're making me think of my cat when you say that word... and I said well getting intimate with a hatchet wound does not sound appealing to me at all...

After some discussion the British have no good words for such things... so when someone says plugs? Of course a thousand ears perk up because that's the best one going in the entire UK.

Back towards the topic, we also have the best electricity. Loads of Americans

British plugs are the best in so many ways except one: that stupid, pointless, unnecessary fuse.

Possibly safer. But I bought a projector from a company in china. So I can watch my computer screen on my ceiling, mainly. It has a UK plug and came with an adapter. It is just huge, the plug with the adapter. It could be safe and not twice as big as a normal plug.

The video mainly points out that the outlet is safer.

That was actually pretty darn educational.

After watching the vid I have to agree, Brits do have far more superior plug/socket designs.

I can't count how many times I've gone to unplug something and it wasn't pushed in all the way and one of my fingers accidentally touched the side of one of the prongs... getting zapped is not fun.

Can't believe I've been drawn in.. OK.. The fuse is there to prevent electrical fires and your appliance frying.
Also it allows you do isolate which item is faulty rather than the main house fuse blowing and having to source the item that has caused it.

I think all modern house builds in the UK have 'trip switches' now? Also known as circuit breakers?
