Saw this picture the other day and thought the Hughes H-1 Racer is one of the sexiest planes ever built. This particular picture is of the 1:1 recreation that a guy built and subsequently crashed on his way home from an airshow.

edit on 31-12-2020 by gpols because: Correcting an error in describing the plane as hostile to other genders, when I really meant it's very attractive.

The camera was newish to me (wife's camera actually) in 2015 so a lot of shots aren't great. 2019 I was still fooling with it. Glad it wasn't film!

Yup. Take lots and something is bound to turn out OK. Fifi was an interesting sound. Impressive for the day similar to the B1 now with its contemporaries.
