This may be of interest to some of you (doubt it). An Amorphophallus titanum, the big flower that smell like a rotten corpse, in the New York Botanical Garden is about to bloom and there is a live cam.

I just spend about half an hour looking the stagnant water... who wants to see a video of a flower that is known for its smell beats me, but either way, enjoy your corpse flower!

Back to seeing nothing happening

Why don't we have that internet smells machine yet, i wanna have the experience of the corpse flower in my living room...

I think it's cool and your post is funny!

It attracts a certain beetle and even traps it to ensure pollination.

The beetle is attracted by the smell.

*I, personally, don't think I'd want to smell it, peeeyooo!

they said the next 48 hours last night on the NY news report they did on it, but the guy who takes care of it said he would expect it will bloom during the overnight hours

very cool plant

When blooming it emits the smell of rotting flesh so flies will come and land and pollinate it.

There is nothing wicked or evil about that, in fact its brilliant if you ask me. Hats off too the designer.

There's also a plant that smells like rotten meat yet is rather pretty to look at...are the two related?

Geez, you'd think they could at least play some elevator music in the background or something whilst we stare for hours on end at a flower.... that's acting like a corpse.

Sometimes you have to wonder why on earth they need a live cam for this, the live feed has been up for a week now...

here is 10 hours of elevator music...

I hope it end up like this to merit the live cam...
